It's cool that you're adding in tiered versions of raid weapons for those who want them, but please for the love of god, find a way to do it that will keep the craftable versions of those weapons earnable, so that those of us who still prefer the old crafting system can earn them. My only motivation right now to run old raids is to get the patterns for craftable weapons that I haven't unlocked yet. If you remove my ability to do that, and replace it all with tiered rng slop, I'll have no motivation to play those activities anymore, outside of getting the exotic. I have no interest in clogging up my vault with tiered weapons when I should be able to just unlock those weapons for crafting without having to sacrifice what precious little vault space I have.
Also, I'm not the only one who feels this way. Ever since it was announced that there were plans to add tiered loot to raids, I've been grinding them to try and catch up on my patterns, out of fear of them being removed, and every single person I've mentioned this to while raiding agreed that they would have no motivation to run the raids anymore, if that happened. A lot of players still prefer the old crafting system, and we'd much prefer for raid weapon patterns to still be earnable, alongside the new tiered versions being added. Please find a way to keep them in the game, for the sake of the playerbase and the game's health, I'm begging you. You really can't afford to be driving away even more players right now.

10 RepliesEdited by LeluDallas MultiPass: 2/20/2026 10:45:05 AMAnyone else think this announcement means they're gonna add feats or different difficulty options to the old dungeons ? Cuz Equilibrium already has Tiered loot... but running it on normal mode only gives you Tier 3's ... you have to actually add FOUR feats to get guaranteed Tier 5's .... so there's no way we're gonna just get Tier 5's from the normal version of old dungeons... some of them are so old they dont even have Master versions... so how would we get Tier 5's ?

The tier system really only affects the adept versions since those can have all 10 perk slots while the crafted versions can't. I doubt crafting is leaving but you never know.

Im fully of the opinion that crafting is ok. But. Craftable versions of weapons should never be the best. Let people make decent rolls. Things that will work for most situations. But the absolute pinnacle best of the best perk combinations and stats should be random drops only. This way crafting doesnt take away the loot chase. Give people reasons to play content after they have their decent craftable rolls.

8 RepliesYou're 100% and not the only one who believes crafting was and still is the right way to go. Don't listen to the morons below with two braincells fighting for third place. These idiots forgot about weapon reforging in D1 which allowed you to reroll your weapon with resources until you got what you wanted. WHICH IS THE SAME AS WEAPON CRAFTING. Did these idiots say reforging would cause D1 to loose player base and time played. NO!!! They -blam!- celebrated that. Even with everyone knowing we would loose all our gear for D2, the player base was strong and everyone celebrated crafting (reforging) because the core gameplay was FUN!!! The D2 playerbase is getting burnt out of the same old -blam!- as the core gameplay hasn't been fun and weapon crafting had -blam!- nothing to do with it regardless of what internet jokes like Paul tassi and the D2 streamers say. Where are the morons now that weapon crafting is gone....They're all writting doom posts and have been for over a year on how the game is dead and playerbase is a sinking ship. Why??? Because the core gameplay hasn't been good for years not weapon crafting. -blam!- off!!!

Edited by Dragokin: 2/19/2026 7:50:17 PMI will have no motivation to step foot into a raid without the Craft guns I've been chipping away at getting those guns for years now and I'm so close... If they take crafting out...I don't know what I would do in the game anymore... because getting craftys has been one of the biggest drivers to keep me playing every week to at least get one gun or at least the spoils for harmonizes and harmonizes are the only reason I check xur... But I highly doubt they will remove it doesn't make sense... The tier system and crafting can and should exist side by side ...

From the team: Our current plan is to upgrade Armor across all RAD content to the Tier system. Weapons from Dungeons will also be Tiered starting in June. As for Raids, Crafted variants of weapons already exist. To elevate those while embracing the power of tiered weapons, we'll be upgrading crafted versions (and adept variants!) with new perks and ways to enhance columns to match that of Tier 5 weapons. We'll have more details closer to launch.
Edited by BillyJean: 2/20/2026 4:35:58 AMCrafting was amazing. Cause it was only some weapons. Allowing an actual good mix of chasing some weapon rolls through RNG AND having the ability to craft some weapons. Not even damage type and archetype was craftable. And if some were, not every weapon was good enough "ei: I'm not going to craft a Witchqueen open world weapon with still bad old perks over chasing a new raid weapon" Crafting really needs to stay. I thought at first it would ruin the game, but no. When they refreshed older raids with new origin perks on newly craftable weapons (ei: Deep Stone Crypt") it gave me new reason to replay the raid all over again. It was the only recycle content I enjoyed cause it was redoing it so I can get what I WANT.

You're plea is falling on deaf ears. It's obvious Bungie considers Weapon Crafting a mistake and just wants it out of the game. That's why we haven't gotten any Craftable weapons since Echoes.

I can’t wait to re-earn fatebringer for the 5th time 😑

Crafting weapons will get enhanced barrel/mag/otrait/mw is what I'm assuming is happening. Don't expect too much then you wont be disappointed

Weapon crafting ended on final shape dlc.. It will stay there, nothing will get add into it unless it exotic crafting. Weapon mod will not change will still remain the same. Time for raid and dungeons to be tier listed.
