SMS Validation error 3

I was looking at the Legends screen in game and two of the raids said "requires account validation." The "verfiy" link in game didn't work, it just opened the main page of the Bungie site. However, I did find the SMS validation screen on the site. When I tried it, it instantly gave error 3 and said try again later, even though I got an SMS code from Bungie. Resend code also sent a new, different code. Neither worked when I tried to submit them. It also says that's for free-to-play players, and I am not.

  • Hi there, Please try logging in through an incognito window. If that doesn't help, try clearing your browser cache and waiting over 24 hours before trying validation again. If the issue persists, you may need to try a different phone number for validation.

[quote]It also says that's for free-to-play players, and I am not.[/quote] The 'owning an expansion bypasses the F2P SMS verification' system looks to have been quietly changed (or became bugged) a while back during the time that Bungie were transitioning their help center to ZenDesk. Anyone that owned expansions at that point kept that status, but people after that point have run into issues with it telling them they need to verify regardless of expansion ownership.
