I dont mean it being there i believe that it should be there, im talking about the fact that you buff the damage of ads to nearly one shot you and then throw a -blam!- ton of ads at us, your incompetence of game balance doesnt help either.

2 RepliesMy only problem with the contest modifier was all of the things it extended to that I didn’t agree with. Oracles, detainment bubble, even the box you shoot to start atheon all had contest buffs that jacked up their hp. I feel that contest should make enemies and bosses harder to kill so it becomes an actual slug fest to kill a boss or survive. But when objectives that dont reasonably need contest modifier bonuses it just makes encounter 9x harder than they reasonably should be. I absolutely loved the opening, confluxes, Templar, Gatekeeper, and Atheon encounters because the difficulty in those encounters is derived from surviving and doing relatively simple mechanics to complete sections or activate damage phases. I hated oracles. Not only was it extremely difficult to keep track of all the oracles because they spawned extremely quickly. You would often get killed when having to spend the 3 seconds it would take to destroy 1 oracle. Multiply that by 6-7 oracles and it takes an eternity to get through one cycle. Where a single death can very easily tumbleweed into a wipe. Don’t get me wrong, I love the contest modifier and think it is a great idea for day 1. I just think that bungie needs to re-evaluate what should and should not be receiving an advantage with contest. A good example was DSC contest. The mechanics were involved but on encounters like Rapture and Security where mechanics are the main focus, you were not at a disadvantage because it wouldn’t take half a mag to activate an operator panel. Where as VoG you were at a major disadvantage because of how much more time and resources you would have to put into an oracle or detainment bubble. I think the easy solution is to just have these objectives have a set number of shots to destroy or a set hp with 0 power so you will never be at a disadvantage in mechanic driven encounters.

Should be optional if you aren’t interested in world’s first.

lemoncurdman You make some valid points and I agree that eververse must be removed from this game but, Whether we wanted it or not, we've stepped into a war with the Cabal on Mars. So let's get to taking out their command, one by one. Valus Ta'aurc. From what I can gather, he commands the Siege Dancers from an Imperial Land Tank just outside of Rubicon. He's well protected, but with the right team, we can punch through those defenses, take this beast out, and break their grip on Freehold

1 ReplyIt really is. Tired of it ruining day 1 experiences. There's got to be some other way of doing things if there HAS to be a modifier. Here's what I say though. Maybe just design the raid to be something challenging in of itself first time through PERIOD (doesn't matter when) but gets easier the more you do it, like a raid should be?
-
24 Repliespeople like you are why pve is so -blam!-ing easy in this game
-
if you dont like contest mode dont play contest mode
-
1 ReplyI imagine the raid is going to be pretty boring now for those who have completed it with the contest modifier active.

2 RepliesEdited by bunga_lad: 5/24/2021 9:28:41 AMWhat ever happened to playing video games for fun and a way to relax from a proper job? People stop subscribing then I reckon games would be made slightly differently. Like think about it for a second, you go out to work so you can give somebody money to play video games all day and as a result developers cater games to suit them. So not only are you going to work while they sit at home your getting your favourite game nuked into a version they want. Lol 😂. Scary how dumb people are nowadays! Moral or story, stop subbing.

Edited by Turt: 5/23/2021 9:33:53 PMIt was so intensely fun to have an activity where everything doesnt fall over at the tip of a hat. This day one was the most fun ive ever had in a destiny activity.
-
for one single day, the raid is tuned for a challenge, you now get every single day for the rest of the games life, where it's catered to you. The entitlement is unreal.
-
It makes it hard. If you can do it at its worst, doing it at its lesser will be easy for you.
-
It is for the best in raiding. Just wait 24 hours then go in and have some fun.
-
5 RepliesWhat contest mode does is assure that only the very best can complete it. If you are the very best, you complete regular mode.
-
1 ReplyAlot of players here are used to running master and grandmaster nightfalls. We need some challenge. That's why it's called contest. Besides, contest is only active for 1 day. Boohoo
-
2 Repliesoh no you have to wait 24 hours to finish vog oh nooooo your life is forever ruined nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
-
8 RepliesIt’s to allow Datto and gladd to stream and show how great they are. Datto is a waste of space.
-
3 RepliesBungie lied and changed every mechanic in the raid.
-
Edited by michael: 5/23/2021 10:15:24 AMThen do the raid on one of the other 364 days of the calendar year where contest is off. Contest is a one time 24 hour thing and the raid is literally NEVER anywhere near as difficult again, let it exist in peace for the people who want that challenge.
-
3 RepliesHonestly it’s called contest mode for a reason and only lasts 24 hours. Nothing worth complaining about here
-
2 RepliesBlame Gladd for saying DSC was too easy.
-
1 ReplyIt is definitely frustrating and feels like they dropped the ball.
-
2 RepliesHonestly, the only awful part is Atheon. Even doing everything right, the harpies shred your health and you do so little damage it's a wonder anyone beat it so fast.
-
9 RepliesDestiny community complains about everything lmao
-
5 RepliesIt always has been. They struggle to make content actually difficult so they need to add artificial challenge so that players don’t make the content look like a joke. The player base has caught on to how they structure encounters. They have a few tweaks here and there but concepts remain the same. They’ve lost their creativity

Minotaurs and Hobgoblins 2 shot you in D1.
