i was thinking with mayhem a thing why not do a mode more focused on gunplay with supers disabled

2 RepliesNo super, no heavy, no radar, reduced special ammo and grenade recharge. Inferno 2.0. An option for people who are tired of the spam.

Lighless Mode.

2 RepliesEdited by OkieDokie_Yoshi: 5/29/2019 4:36:24 AMBecause then it’d just be mostly: - Recluse - Luna’s - NF’s - Wardcliff - Telesto - Outbreak - Any high impact shotgun with range *shrug*

3 RepliesY'all must be really sick of the Spectral Blades and GG to warrant a "no super mode"
-
I would love it. Ppl were calling for the guardian to feel more powerful before Forsaken, sure i agreed on that for PvE. But in the Crucible, regarding Super ability, just no. In a 6v6 mode the gameplay flat out tedius and boring. After 2 mins of a 12 minute game it's just super after super, and some subclasses seem impossible to kill, to the point you just stop and wait for being killed. Im a casual solo player, and sure i need to "Git gud", but so often when facing a stacked team, that know how to chain Supers to the max, im just like, "why do I waste my time on this." So the Idea of a gametype with no Supers sounds like great music to my ears. I also have this feeling that Bungie is moving away from the Crucible. Trials definetly put the game on the map, and they abandon that. Lack of new maps and a really unrewarding loot system. As a solo player Gambit does not feel as appealing to me, but the loot pool is so much more interesting. So many things and i could go on and on.

As a former CoD player this is really appealing to me. The crucible is all over the place as an experience. I’m good at gunfights, positioning, movement and other things related to actually winning a gunfight but the addition of supers and abilities like shoulder charge completely ruins any attempts at this. The fixation on power ammo is also an issue in the same way imo. There is kind of a skill to playing for power, cycling supers, and adjusting for these things but those are not necessarily related to being good at what the crucible claims to test. At the end of the day, the margins which win a gunfight are small and there’s risk and reward to certain decisions. Supers and the like ruin the “economy” of risk and reward in a gunfight. I’m not saying these should be removed but there’s something to be said for the fact that the crucible is so random that it kinda fails to test the actual skills of guardians.

1 ReplyIm sorry but really that mode should be comp. I've seen too many games won by players who can't win 1v1s let alone 1v2s simply because of rolling supers and use of tracking weapons. Im fine with grenades, class skills, and melees, but supers and tracking weapons should have tracking disabled and players should start the game with one super and it should be a tactical decision when to use it, limiting you to only one per game.

Edited by mJORG77: 5/28/2019 11:25:57 AMNo super and no or limited special and heavy ammo

3 RepliesI think a mode with no special or heavy ammo would be fun.
-
Even though it’s a CoD game mode, I would love to see Gun Game in D2. Cycle through each gun type with each kill. It’d be a fun change of pace from fixed load outs.
-
1 ReplyKeep in mind the only argument against this is the lazy “go play cod” argument. The same people that say no to this, are the same people that won’t play it.
-
More and more people are asking for this. Maybe we will actually see it happen. I would love to see it too.

i was thinking with mayhem a thing why not do a mode more focused on gunplay with supers disabled
So you want old cod type PvP? This is a power fantasy type game lmao why do people keep asking for the power part to be taken away

i was thinking with mayhem a thing why not do a mode more focused on gunplay with supers disabled
tHeN gO pLaY cOd. - argument made by people who don't support this. Me personally? No bogus ass class 1HK and super spam bs. Just your guns and your wits. Yes please.

1 ReplyI would play this non stop, been wanting it for a while now
-
3 RepliesFinally a game mode without spectral blades, panic blade barrage, fist of panic, and purple Captain America.
-
1 ReplyThis has been suggested before and a Mod replied about passing it on to devs, so... hopefully... one day... maybe
-
2 RepliesA crucible where supers aren't spammed all at once, 2 or 3 times in a match is what we need. PVP is literally the most shittest place right now, its unplayable at times. People leave more often than not, kinda says it all about the game. The game places hardly any emphasis on gun battles once you've got to about a third into the game-mode.
-
39 RepliesCan we get a game modes without Hunters? Yeah that would be great.
-
6 RepliesSo a mode where Destiny 2 isn't Destiny 2? Got it.
-
3 RepliesThey could implement it as an additional mode in Rumble. A place to try out your newest weapon. New to the game and want to get a feel for your weapons in PvP? This is the place. Rumble needs some love anyway. So many posts in these forums complaining about the difficulties as a solo player in Crucible and there's a game mode for them with no incentives to play it.

1 ReplyEdited by DiZ: 5/26/2019 9:57:30 AMI'd like a gamemode with no Heavy ammo, Exotic armor(or perhaps "disabled" Exotic armor; Exotic perk doesn't work, but you can use it for its good roll), and possibly "disabled" Super mods. I'd add no duplicate subclasses/Supers, but that'd require fireteam-only matchmaking(i.e. Trials). Only reason I don't think I could support a "no Super" gamemode is because certain subclasses and/or Exotic armor(i.e. top tree Sunbreaker, Hallowfire Heart) have pretty non-existent neutral games in exchange for a good Super. Or part of their neutral game is focused around Super regen(i.e. middle tree Striker, bottom tree Gunslinger).

It would definitely be a step in the right direction.

Edited by Parpmeister: 5/26/2019 9:53:19 AMWith new maps allowing for anything other than Ace Of Spades or TLW snipeage? (PC) Or reducing the effective range/ of certain weapon types?* *Crucible only °Edit- One gun loadout so you have to make a choice?

ah a true hero, the only normal person i've seen on these forums in years
