1 ReplyI honestly never remembered to melee before I started spamming shots.

4 RepliesSnowflakes out in force on this one. This nerf is required, the gun is too powerful so in PvE its pretty much always the best weapon in its slot. Is it really better that we use the same weapon all the time? Now there is more room for other weapons to be viable in this slot. Also even with this nerf, it is still good to use for exactly the same situations as before.

I guess it brings the Primeval burn time from 3 seconds to maybe 10 seconds now, and changes nothing for captains and most majors. On paper it doesn't seem all that bad but, will have to test it out to see.
-
1 ReplyLets be honest, your average player is half way across the map by the third shot. This just impacts well coordinated teams who will have plenty of workarounds.
-
2 RepliesThey have to nerf good gear to make shitty new gear seem good. They did it to the Ikilos Sniper last time and its why all vinilla gear was left behind.
-
Ikelos Shotgun? Tf is that? Is it a new Exotic that we didnt know about and is coming to Black Armory? 🤔
Before you respond, yes I know what it is, but RNG is so bad for me that I was never able to get it
8 RepliesThis sucks and I hate nerfs and I love the SG but with the way every damn enemy stomps and sends you flying you don’t get much more than 3 shots anyway. Half the time I don’t even melee first, I just run in and try to get as many shots as possible before I’m stomped away, it’ll still be a awesome SG.

3 RepliesAbout time tbh. You guys rely too much in crutches.

7 RepliesHow is this even a thing? Queensbreaker, Crooked Fang all 1 hit kills, shotgun not. So basically this means invaders have even more of an advantage as we have less to counter at close range. Nice one Bungle..
-
At least I got to use it when it was still bad ass. What are you guys gonna whine about to get nerfed next?

20 RepliesI welcome this change. Cheesing bosses and especially the Prime Evil in gambit has to go. I never understood the mindset of people who want to play a game where the sole intention is to grind for weapons only to cheese your way through it. Makes 0 sense to me.

Until Bungie balances weapons for both PVE and PVP we're going to have nerfs, going to have weapons predominately used in PVP, etc. But just like Dedicated servers for PVP weapon balancing for two play modes will never happen and that's a dam shame.
-
5 RepliesThat’s fair. It trivializes EVERYTHING and it’s the only sensible option for your special slot for pve. They absolutely had to nerf this, there was no way around it. If we want any sort of weapon diversity or any reason to use another special competitively, this unfortunately had to happen. Only other “nerf” I could have seen was to make it exotic.

3 RepliesProbably because it makes every boss into a classroom in a school shooting
-
Because of course they are. I’ve given up trying to understand why they do anything.

Another -blam!-ing arsehole fix from Bungie

8 RepliesEdited by RichGhost77: 11/27/2018 6:06:31 PMGood. I use that thing for every single activity lol Never been this happy to read about a nerf! :)

3 RepliesOk, so i don't know a ton about D2. I put in 1100 hours in D1 from launch to January 2017. The game was fun, BUUUUUT, the Nerfs. Oh my fn god, the NERFS. For y'all who didn't play D1, Bungie's "sandbox" dev team lead by John Weisnewski began "balancing" the game pretty early on. See, they had a choice to make very early on: Let PvP dominate the game, Let PvE decide where and how to balance power ,and finally to SEPARATE the two modes and balance individually. It appears as though Bungie has chosen option 1 yet again for Destiny 2. Is this true? The only reason i quit playing and hopped off the hamster wheel/slot machine of Destiny is the Balance-Down approach to everything. Pathetically lazy and really, in all honesty, you leveled up, grinded, got more powerful gear/guns/"light" level and by the end of 2016? You were FAR weaker than 6 months prior. The game came outta the gate with John Weisnewski and team swingin' hard and nerfin' harder. A few months ago i downloaded and played the D2 demo and was shocked at how incomplete the game felt. And that was teh DEMO! That was what they wanted to showcase. I saw something about another DLC, but if they're still doing the balance-down act, then wtf is the point. Right? Or is this game as fun as D1 was, pre-nerfing?

There are still plenty of other ways to annihilate the Primeval. Melting Point and Supers, anyone? Instead of treating the heart of the problem - the Primeval mechanics - they treated one of the symptoms. The community will just find other ways to melt the Primeval, I'm sure many more methods will pop up once Black Armory releases. And because the core of the issue wasn't addressed, I'm sure you can expect more nerfs in the future. Very short-sighted by Bungie, in my opinion.

About time!

How can a company playtest how guns do in a totally controlled PvE environment and not get it right at launch? PvP, sure there's human variables but PvE...... Either the playtest team spends their days sniffing glue or Bungie does it on purpose.
-
2 RepliesHonestly I'm happy about it. I don't wanna be forced into using the same loadout whenever I'm in endgame activities. It opens up space for other guns.
-
13 RepliesThank God, now let's see all these scrubs beat the raid encounters without it.
-
2 RepliesEdited by TheWagn: 11/27/2018 6:48:09 PMWas a good change. You were pretty much nerfing yourself if you weren't using this weapon in PvE. Still deadly but not over the top.

12 RepliesLol good 😂 Now they just need to get rid of the cluster cheese.
