Think about it:
-Masterwork Cores for every infusion, catered to those who stockpile
-Last Wish raid completion less than 1% during the first few days, almost all that did are streamers
-second and third Seeds of Light (character progression) currently only available from endgame team activities
Being even semi-casual no longer exists as an option. Bungie wants you to invest a part of your life into Destiny if you really want to have fun, which is ridiculous if you ask me.
And here's the thing, Bungie does listen. Just not to you or anybody else who isn't a popular streamer.
What ever happened to the casual/hardcore balance that was there at the end cycle of D1? And why the hell did it go away? -_-
#playOURway 🙄

Edited by NateSix2Six: 9/25/2018 3:03:59 PMI got to say I disagree with you, lfg a raid or even the well of light I did last night and got my second seed of light. This is where the game needs to be though grindy and with lots of things to chase after.
-
So because you refuse to play the whole game Bungie should give you more stuff? Like I get that you can be sick of lfg (but I still think you are wrong, bc I’ve used it for years), but Bungie is not going to give you stuff if you don’t play the whole game, that’s not a “casual punishment”, that’s game design.
-
I hear you I can only go to the gym twice a week but some people go everyday why the hell do they get to get stronger than me? I have a family and work it’s not fair those people can lift more than me.......

1 ReplyWhat are you oin about? D1 was for the hardcore players who stuck around at the end, literally all of d1 was essentially for those who devoted their time to it and even then the only casual thing was strike loot. D2 was casual friendly as they lost alot of people and refunds so they learned and even then d2 had the raid and trials. D2 now is similar to D1 which you proclaim was balanced in that aspect in which it wasn't. You don't have to devote your life to Destiny to even raid or reach that light level which isn't hard either. If you do all your weekly challenges you would be at 550s at least. Raiding is not that hard, you know if you're on Xbox there's an lfg that's instant to do and people are easier than ever to do. The first boss of the raid is the most straightforward you might as well call it a public event boss, easy seed of light especially when most of the community is high enough to get her in one run. Blind well isn't end game, Tier 2 and 3 are pretty much guaranteed to give you a seed of light and the amount of people doing it who are higher light level than you will give you a freebie. The third seed is in the campaign but Idk if that's also hard-core for you since playing destiny alone is already devoting your life to it. Since ya know you are giving it your free time already. The issue here is that you are making an exaggeration of something that doesn't need to be. I have work and studies and play a handful of times a week and still managed 560 light level so it's obvious you're either bad at this game or simply don't have the ability to comprehend that very simple system
masterwork cores aren't hard either, just visit spider everyday and purchase them when they reset, doesn't take more than 5 minutes to turn on the Xbox and go to tangled shore to do it then turn it off
2 Repliesdisagree totally There is enough content to cater for all players. Play at your own pace and the content you want to play. For the first time there are a number of options now for players when they log on and to prioritise themselves what and how they want to play. My highest char is only 530 so fits the very definition of casual at this stage I would have thought.
-
You're basically saying that the first year of D2 was better than forsaken and I couldn't disagree with you more.
-
remember that summit, that's when it was decided.
-
Nope, play something else.
-
It should have never been an option with this game
-
A casual mate of mine has 5 year 2 exotics, not quest ones whilst im sat on 1. I must be on 3x his hours, but thats the curse of the casual
-
Yeah, it may not be a popular opinion in a forum populated mainly by people who think of themselves as “hardcore”, but it’s a correct one. Rather than create content they’ve artificially throttled the “grind” so that you have to keep doing the same few activities over and over to progress, and the activities most casual players will gravitate towards, ie strikes, flashpoint and Quickplay crucible, are useless for progression beyond a certain point. There is zero objective justification for this - it’s not like Blind Well is anything different from a public event or requires any more skill, ascendent challenges just the same. They’ve also set up quickplay matchmaking so they casuals will be cannon fodder for NoLifers ... basically it seems that streamers and their followers cried and cried and cried to get their way, but rather than go for a balance they’ve just set up the entire game to please that small but vocal - waaaaaaaah - section of the player base.

Summed up nicely.

Edited by Boss: 9/25/2018 2:35:02 PMTheir changing master work cores and how to get the third seed of light. And its also only the first few days of the raid. Next time, think before you make a post.
-
It was never an option. Stream or get shit on. Don't cheat unless you stream (streaming makes it OK by Bungie). Stealth nerfs, XP throttling, glitches, exploits and cheats = Bungie 2018

4 RepliesJust tell then you're a twitch affiliate, I bet there's all kinds of hidden perks that get activated.
-
2 RepliesI’m as casual as it gets. Two days for weeklies. Login everyday to do the daily (unless they double up) May try the raid once Don’t logon till next Tuesday 550 and loving it
-
Edited by Myles: 9/25/2018 2:19:27 PMSorry if I offend anyone Bungie should never have catered to casual in the first place look what happens when they did and now the grind is back the game is better than ever

Edited by Amazinite: 9/25/2018 2:23:33 PMDude, I got my 2nd Seed of Light on two of my characters by just going to the Blind Well alone and finding a couple blueberries already there. Yes, it’s a team activity, but Bungie gives you a team. This is like complaining that strike catalysts are locked behind a team activity. They are, it’s just that you’re given a team. And as stated, doing just the FIRST encounter of the raid isn’t going to be the only way to get your 3rd Seed. And as for Masterwork cores: 1) Buy from Spider daily 2) Farm planetary materials on old planets and then them in to the vendors there, as old planetary vendors have a decent chance of dropping masterworked Y1 weapons and armor that can be dismantled for cores. (I received nearly 30 cores doing this yesterday.) 3) DON’T INFUSE EVERY LITTLE ITEM YOU GET! Actually think about what you’re infusing, and deal with having to use subpar weapons and ugly armor if you’re seriously having a masterwork code problem. Yes, I stockpiled before Forsaken, but my stockpile of cores has also been increasing since Forsaken. I’ve only infused at most 10 things, and only masterworked one gun so far. When infusion is expensive, you have to infuse sparingly and get out of the D2Y1 mindset of “INFUSING EVERYTHING NOW!”
-
You can buy master work cores and there is a consumable that makes everything orange bar and up have a chance to drop one until kne actually does, they are alot easier to get than you think and all edges transits are basically free legendary shards and said comsumable

Wahhhhhh

This franchise was not meant for extreme casuals. You can still have fun with it, do crucible, run see strikes, patrol, ect, but to reach the true endgame content you will have to spend some time on it. I'm not against casuals in any way, about a quarter of my clan are casuals and they have a great time. Just temper your expectations for progression. You get out what you put in, like most things in life.

This post is dumb

It is sad, how some expansions of Destiny are like: “Oh boy, I’m really having a blast!” and other expansions are like: “Okay, how to I keep this from sucking ass.”

2 RepliesEdited by lCertifiedl: 9/25/2018 2:25:02 PMLoads of people have full time jobs and commitments like myself and still manage to play destiny each week with a few good hours. Just because you don't have time it doesn't mean everyone else doesn't also, destiny is possibly in the best place it's been in for a while.

I'm super casual and I don't think it's that bad.
Masterwork Cores for every infusion, catered to those who stockpile
I buy 3-5 everytime I log on and I'm much more careful with my infusion choices.
Last Wish raid completion less than 1% during the first few days, almost all that did are streamers
That's probably very accurate, but doesn't effect me at all.
second and third Seeds of Light (character progression) currently only available from endgame team activities
I just opened up the Dreaming city and got one on my first Blind Well experience.
Being even semi-casual no longer exists as an option.
Weird.....it does for me, but I'm don't obsess over power level. Sure, I miss powerful/prime engrams every week, but, meh, I'm cool with that because I'm a filthy casual. Right now I'm casually trying to get my 25 HC kills for the AoS.....I have 7.....but, meh, I'm cool with that because I'm a filthy casual. Have a great day! Yay! F*ck, this coffee is strong.....
