Think about it:
-Masterwork Cores for every infusion, catered to those who stockpile
-Last Wish raid completion less than 1% during the first few days, almost all that did are streamers
-second and third Seeds of Light (character progression) currently only available from endgame team activities
Being even semi-casual no longer exists as an option. Bungie wants you to invest a part of your life into Destiny if you really want to have fun, which is ridiculous if you ask me.
And here's the thing, Bungie does listen. Just not to you or anybody else who isn't a popular streamer.
What ever happened to the casual/hardcore balance that was there at the end cycle of D1? And why the hell did it go away? -_-
#playOURway 🙄

I got my second seed of light by leeching off another team soooooo

Don’t worry, bungie will panic and make changes once red dead and fallout come out.

1 ReplyIf you want to play a casual game go to call of duty or halo
-
I’m starting to hit that wall myself. I can’t even recommend this game to my friends because of how shitty the lvling system is. A casual player will take months to get raid rdy in this game which is the only thing to really do. Gambit was fun for 5 minutes. Crucible is crucible still and a skating rink for titans as more people seem to be discovering how to macro, strikes are stupid easy now, I mean boss mechanics now are burn him. That’s it. It’s gonna get old quick.

3 RepliesBungie essentially made it so I am no longer interested in playing. I only have a few hours a week to play, and everyone I (used to) play with plays daily and is light years ahead of me in regards to power level. I can’t even hope to get to Nightfall level for at least several weeks, much less Raid-ready levels. I am happy that the hardcore Destiny players like the new DLC and the daily grind, but I suspect many of the more casual players are feeing like me: overwhelmed and kind of abandoned.

2 RepliesBecome a youtuber or a streamer for them suddenly you’ll unlock everything by doing nothing.

1 ReplyI am so casual I haven't even completed the vault of glass raid. I have done crota and no other. I am so casual I only play destiny every 2 weeks. I have been playing since beta(xbone), I didn't even notice the forever 29 I am so casual. Some how I have gotten to 504 power level, I just barely got to the dreaming city. Last raid I don't even know what it was about, this one who knows not me I am so casual.

Salt is present haha. Enjoy playing solo good luck. Enjoy the grind.
-
I’m casual. And don’t care

Edited by xBraveSirRobinx: 9/27/2018 11:39:15 AMIf you put a casual amount of time in you’ll get your light up at a casual rate, you’ll gain access to end game activities when you get there. You’re seeing it as week 4, many of us are seeing it as x 100 hours put in. After that number of hours you’ll be in the same place.

9 RepliesIt's not a "race" to 600 light, it's a "Journey" to 600 light. People think because you can't reach 600 light in a month that the game is over? What happen to just playing and enjoying each step? Everyone want's to hurry to be max light. "The game is no fun if I can't be max light in 6 days" LOL Calm down and enjoy the journey, not the grind.
-
You can play your way, just don’t expect to do everything immediately Being a casual was an option when D2 was in the worst state it has ever been in with the lowest player rates and no grind
-
5 RepliesYeah I feel like they went to far in the other direction. Too much grind. There needs to be a middle ground.
-
5 RepliesCausal Masterwork cores: if you're causual why infuse use highest light gear. Raid: dont have to raid there are 12+ different activites to increase light. Seeds drop from t2 well and oracle this week takes 10 minutes. I don't see a problem for casuals.

Edited by Zero the Remnant: 9/26/2018 6:00:27 PM
Think about it: -Masterwork Cores for every infusion, catered to those who stockpile
Hardly anyone likes this. Even the Hardcores hate it.
-Last Wish raid completion less than 1% during the first few days, almost all that did are streamers
Raids wiĺl always & forever be completed by the 1%. Less & less games include them due to this & the fact that gamers have less time for them. There is no issue here. Besides Last Wish is King's Fall on Steriods. A fun raid is Wrath of the Machine and Vault of Glass
-second and third Seeds of Light (character progression) currently only available from endgame team activities
Blind well is not team required. You can solo, duo, & small group it with some effort.
What ever happened to the casual/hardcore balance that was there at the end cycle of D1? And why the hell did it go away? -_-
I 100% agree here. Destiny 1's "Golden Age" was when the game hit the mostly middleground. Destiny 2's biggest issue is it swings 1 way or the other when Destiny is at it's best when it's in the middle. Too far to one side dooms it. In D1 it was TOO Hardcore (Year 1) then it hit a good balance come Taken King & Rise of Iron. D2 was TOO Casual (Year 1) but unlike D1 it's swung just a little bit too far in the Hardcore direction. But course correction will not take too long. Honestly, Cores will most likely be removed from infusion, and as common power level rises Blindwell even with Randoms will be easier. I'm a Solo player & I LOVE how Destiny takes time to grow in now. Feels very Taken King where every week I feel stronger. I dislike infusion currently as it is not a "meaningful choice" as Streamers like to shit out their mouths. It's a waste of resources between making an item usable and using something special. Basically why bother making your favorite gear special when it's unusable. Now if the "Same item" rules for infusion applied to say archetype we' be golden. Handcannon into a Handcannon = 5000 Glimmer vs Pulse Rifle into a Handcannon = Glimmer + Shards + Materials. Masterwork Cores should be for specialization period. As a Solo, Masterworking is a way for me to have a form of Endgame as Raiding is 100% not an option. So instead I can empower my arsenal. Everything else will come in time.

4 RepliesI like it this way . Think about it, the grind may be a bitch but we will have something to do for months. I understand a lot of people don’t have the time to do all that, so I understand, but it’s a seasonal pass now, you can play the game for a year and a lot of players will still be here. I just ran my first leviathan raid last month for example.

I play maybe two hours a day and have fun. The jumping puzzles everywhere is annoying but the game should be fun not a rush. We are literally 4 weeks from launch and everyone is having a fit. I'm in the 530s and I'm ok with that. Not to mention level 600 literally only makes your pve content easier doesn't matter in PvP.
-
What has this to do with anything? The amount of Time it takes to Progress has nothing to do with being casual or hardcore! The Game is still pretty casual and easy, as it always was! It just takes longer to gear up now, that is all. In Year 1 it was the other Extreme, where basically anyone who just played like 2-3 Hours on Tuesday would Gear up almost as fast as more dedicated players. But still, this misconception about time investment being equal to casual/hardcore makes no sense.
-
17 RepliesYou can definitely be casual and play forsaken. Yes things will obviously take a lot longer than people who play all the time, but what’s wrong with that?. I never get this big rush to do everything. We got plenty of fun stuff to do destiny now just enjoy it and work towards end game content in your own time. Play your game and stop worrying about what others have done or got, that’s my advice to you bud.
-
Even casual you can still accomplish most in the game just at a slower pace. Seems to me like you just want everything given to you...
-
Blind well is middlegame, it really isn't endgame.
-
Nope. Go play fortnite
-
You can play casual, it just means you cant do every activity right away. Stop whining. You will be bored of the game after being max light and doing all activities in a month or so.
-
Third seed of light comes from the Oracle this week
-
7 RepliesI've invested and still haven't got any return. My drops have been so awful. Light is at 544 and I'm getting drops from nightfall and ascedent challenge in the mid 530's. Makes literally no sense
-
That's funny, because I'm actually doing pretty well for a guy that can only play on weekends.
