Edit: To clarify a bit, I’m just saying that they need to make the quest steps hard. Not stupidly easy like they did. This is probably the best HC in the game. The quest steps should be hard.
Edit 2: So a lot of people misunderstood, which is my fault. I didn’t word this correctly and I chose not to change it, which is my fault again.

I got it the second day in 2 matches and I thought the PvP part of it was really dumb. What people don’t realize is that there’s a fair amount of people who don’t play PvP because either they’re bad at it (which is fine) or they just don’t like the idea of PvP (which again is fine). My issue is the weapon shouldn’t have had a PvP requirement to begin with and honestly I don’t think it should at all. We have a gambit exotic already even though it’s probably time gated and we are a casual PvP exotic (even though it’s garbage and a waste of time to get... also got that on the second day) and we have our comp weapons. Normally I’d be fine with it being PvP since cayde was a PvP guy (even though ikora was better) but ace is THE weapon of this expansion, it’s the one on the cover, it’s the one that we were tasked to get back, it’s the one that killed cayde and it’s the one we used to kill that son of a bitch that took it (I’m one of the people who believe we did it) we had the gun, we held the gun, we shot the gun, we did what we promised ourselves we’d do and we avenged cayde, we proved that we were worthy of holding the ace of spades, but instead of keeping it a pve only exotic (like it should have been) they decided that in order to remember a fallen guardian, we’d have to go and murder other guardians, which I felt was wrong, remember when we got nightstalker in D1, we used that power to avenge a fallen hunter, we didn’t go “hey, let’s go kill other guardians with it to remember him”

I am terrible at PvP, it was difficult, but did it over a period of a week. I think it's worse now with the Sleeper being the way it is....

Yea I got it in the first week of forsaken, and I honestly don't care if its changed. Let people have there Ace of spades, its not like ultra Rare gun, you get the quest as soon you start the game.

Got it legit but am currently running quest on my alt character with my AoS and its going to take alot of kills to rank it up. Quicker for alot of people to get the 5 invader kills. Having said that, because of the way Bungie seemed to entice players with the ornament for pre-ordering, I really feel like the AoS should have been the "gimme" exotic for finishing the story other than the "ode to Cayde" mission where you have to find his chests. As for the rest of the exotic quests, if you want the exotic, grind it out!

1 ReplyGot past the gambit step, but it took a while. Not sure if you're on pc or not, but on console and with my lack of skill, it's hard to aim. I honestly don't like hand cannons because I can't land my crits, but I always liked ace in D1 for its reload animation, and I want it because I like collecting. So it's fine, I'll get it at some point, I would just rather use a pulse rifle or a bow than feel like I have to use a HC until I finish the quest.

I earned it "legit", as you say, but BIG FREAKING DEAL..... The AOS should not have been locked behind this type of quest in the first place. It should have been a time since quest with easy results just like the Ghorn in year 3. There are plenty of other exotics they could assign to this type of quest that you, me, and many others would have chased. Minus the Cade portion the first two quest steps would have been perfect for TLW. I'm just saying.

2 RepliesI haven't completed it yet, but I did get through the invasion kills part before it was changed. I finished the strike kllls step yesterday, but I'm going to take a break from PvP for a couple of days before I start working on the 25 precision kills.

Well, I was causally working through it (Damn Work lol), so I was up to 3 of the 5 kills I needed and then they changed it. So nope, now I have grind to complete it. Wasn't that extremely difficult, I was just more focused at completed bounties etc for 3 characters lol. Oh well, I'll just continue on at my own pace. But I just really wanted to see how it all plays out to get it, more than having the weapon to be honest.
