In just mere days, Destiny 2: Forsaken will arrive, ushering in a host of new experiences and major upgrades aimed at transforming nearly every aspect of the game. We’ve already spoken a lot about Forsaken’s key features and updates, but we wanted to take a moment prior to launch to provide you with some additional details about what you can expect beyond day one. To tee up that conversation, we’ve recruited a handful of developers to take you through our plans, from the 2.0 update that went live today, through our current plans for seasons and the annual pass.
Seasons of Change
Destiny 2: Forsaken kicks off the Season of the Outlaw. Once you’ve completed the campaign, hunted down the Barons, secured some of your favorite new weapons, and explored the new worlds and the challenges that await, you can expect to see us continue updating the game with new activities and rewards. We’ve also hidden away many surprises for you to discover, and the information and roadmap below aren’t intended to spoil them, but rather to give you a broad sense of what’s to come.
After Season of the Outlaw concludes, each subsequent three-month Season will usher in a month-over-month roll out of new experiences, events, rewards, and activities, most of which will be available for free to every Destiny 2 player.
Annual Pass
The Forsaken Annual Pass is different than the traditional post-launch Destiny expansions we’ve delivered in years past. Black Armory, Joker’s Wild and Penumbra will offer a range of different experiences that consist of new endgame activities and modes, discovery, and challenges that escalate, ebb, and flow over time, with each offering prestigious rewards.
Annual Pass content will release throughout the year, working in concert with our free Seasons to help keep the world alive and fresh. Black Armory, Joker’s Wild, and Penumbra each deliver multiple beats that span the length of a given Season. We believe the overall experience will feel markedly different to Destiny players, in a really good way.
Below is our first Forsaken-era post launch roadmap. It includes a short hit list of what you can expect in the coming weeks, and a look at what’s on tap in the months beyond. Once again, it’s not intended to spoil the surprises, but it should give you a good idea of our commitment to supporting Destiny 2 in Year 2.

Like our previous roadmaps, we’ll continue to update you with additional details and changes as these experiences continue to shape up and come together.
Keep an eye out for more detailed scheduling and information covering the Season of the Outlaw soon, and more information about the follow-on seasons and Annual Pass in the months ahead. As always, we’ll be listening intently to your feedback, updating the game with an eye toward continuous improvement, and playing and experience the game as part of this remarkable community.

5 RepliesWhat happened to all the emblems I had in my vault space?

Edited by fortunatedad: 8/31/2018 3:27:13 AMWhat happens to the tokens after forsaken drops? I know they won’t be dropping anymore, right? But will we still be able to use them to rank up after dlc drop? Thanks. Edit: never mind. Found it.

So now that we are expected to pay for April update, which eververse was introduced to pay for, does that mean that the cash shop will no longer be the singular focus of the game?
-
I keep thinking the title says "beyond lunch" & getting my hopes up.
-
Lame. Muted.

69 RepliesPut the shotguns back in the heavy slot, return the weapon system to the way it has been for years. I just uninstalled your game after one crucible round. Cancelled my forsaken order as well.. You guys suck.
-
1 ReplyThe only thing I can say at this point...
It's about damn time Bungie made the weapons slot useful lol.
9 RepliesEdited by Quaddity: 8/30/2018 3:18:15 PMWhat happens if I skip Forsaken and only get the annual pass content? Will Forsaken be required?
-
2 RepliesIs the annual pass free content as well with the dlc or is it a paid for experience? Not quite understanding the outline here.

16 RepliesMan, I'm really, really, disappointed by the PVP changes to the point I don't think I'll be buying the next expansion for the first time ever... I'm not a big time Crucible player, but it's what I enjoyed playing in the little free time I do have. I used to raid a lot (100s of clears in D1), but I just don't have time anymore. Anyways, this PVP META is horrible! Everything is a one shot kill! Rockets (heavy) one shot, shoulder charge is one shot, supers one shot, shotguns everywhere now are one shot, etc. There's no gun fights. Melee system still just sucks and is weird, and it's just pretty dang lame. I like the encounters if being able to exchange gunfire and the excitement if it. I was able to adjust in like the third game I played and get a positive KD, but that's because i equipped a shotgun and one shit cheesed everyone too. Just no fun. Getting one shot killed by everyone and everything has sucked the fun right out of PVP

1 ReplyEdited by NastyNati0527: 8/30/2018 3:35:52 PMAnnual pass is still super vague, cant commit to it at this time, no idea what these activities are, no mention of new strikes, I'll wait for more info.

Awesome stuff .....l thank you from a D1 beta to current day hobbyist :)
-
::checks to see if Bungie got rid of permanent intrinsic juggler:: Evidently not.

8 RepliesI have 1 Heroic Strike to complete for the Vanguard Armor Helmet. I thought I had the rest of this week to do this. I know I shouldn't have waited till the last week, but I had a LOT to do for my 3 Solstice armor sets. With the update, there are no more Heroic Strikes. Is there something that can be done so the new Legacy Strikes or Nightfalls will count for this?
-
Sounds awesome!!! I would love to get some developer insight as to why this stuff wasn't implemented at launch! Just sayin.........
-
2 RepliesI really can't see how they can say that the season pass is a result of how Osiris and Warmind went. CoO was probably the absolute worst expansion in Destiny history. I may wait this one out to see what people think of it...
-
14 RepliesRIP what Destiny could have been. All we'll get is monetized crap from Bungie.
-
4 RepliesI truly hope this DLC, along with the Annual Pass, is player-centric and address the many of mistakes Bungie has made. For many, this will be a make or break moment for players skeptical, including myself, of Bungie's misleading practices and communications.
-
5 RepliesIt really makes me sad to see you guys are sticking with your "raid lairs". It shows how far you guys still are away from understanding your customer base. IF (big if) I do get the expansion after several weeks of pure glowing reviews, there's no way I'm going to get the season pass or whatever we aren't calling it anymore again. I have no plans on paying for little updates like that. I got burned hard-core getting the $100 version of the game with the disgusting "expansions" that were in it. I really want the game to come back and be anything near D1, but I always feel like there will be a "gotcha" hidden something in here somewhere. I used to do at least 1 raid a week in D1 but can't bring myself to do anymore in D2. The lairs are meh and the actual raid is just not very good.

4 RepliesNot pictured: the horrendous lag after 2.0
-
3 RepliesThis new weapon system isn't as free as you say it is. It just forces you to use a different set up. If I want to use mida multitool and alone as a god, I can't.
-
What did you do to matchmaking? the lag is making crucible a mess. I won't be playing if the lag is like this. In fact I won't buy forsaken until this is fixed.
-
7 RepliesCan I just say, F SBMM!!! Its obvious it's back in quickplay and it's really not fun. Seriously Bungie?
-
3 Repliesnot buying into the hype this time. I'll might check it out in a few weeks.
-
6 RepliesEdited by Crusader: 8/29/2018 3:46:25 PMCayde is dead, and so is my interest in this franchise. Good job Bungie. Trying to guilt us into fandom or something? Trying to rally us behind a character YOU killed? Absolutely the most moronic thing you could of done.
-
6 RepliesI can't be the only person that finds it funny that you guys didn't release just a season pass for everything. But you have to buy the dlc and then get the season pass for the dlc. It's just beyond stupid and pretty much just shows how money hungry bungie still is, especially if they're cutting back on what eververse sells.
