I keep seeing news articles about how Destiny 2 will be a clean slate, with new characters. If that is the case I'm not to pleased about that. Bungie promised at the beginning of Destiny that we would keep our characters for the 10 year plan of the game. To go back on that promise would really be doing the fans a disservice.

5 RepliesLet us keep our weapons please. They are essentially what makes destiny so great. Also emblems and shaders.
-
They should keep your characters, but you should be able to make new ones, like make the old ones npcs or something

8 RepliesEdited by Excarkun: 10/18/2016 7:24:42 PMI would think they LEAKED this info. Out to Gage the customers reactions. It's probably going to be more work for them to let us bring them over..but if EA/Bioware/MassEffect can do it for ME2 & 3 then these guys can easily with newer tech. It be great to have to have the options of keeping them as is or to change features/sex/races. Or start over with a new one.. just what I would expect if not I'll probably be done as well..

6 RepliesWhen you buy a sequel, do you expect to keep your characters from the last game? Being lvl 40 in a lvl 1 era early game should be so fun to play with
-
I won't play Destiny 2 if that's the case, unless it's dramatically better.
-
6 RepliesIt's a new game. Does each new Pokemon game let you keep the Pokemon you had?
-
No, everything we've done the last 2+ year is going to waste. RIP guardans.

16 RepliesEdited by Nash: 10/18/2016 11:41:12 PMA lot of us have spent an immense amount of time finishing off our collections -shaders, emblems, ships, sparrows, grimoire. The average time to complete the patrol grimoire alone is upwards of 50 hours. I, for one, would not have invested so much time if I knew it was not going to be carried forward. If they do end up making this decision, I can tell you now I won't be here for Destiny 2. Many online games have had no issues carrying forward player achievements. World of Warcraft is one such example. How am I supposed to become legend if all of my achievements are null?
-
Nah, they'll be changed to "legacy" characters, and will only be able to play past content.
-
1 Reply"Become Legend, for 3 years then start all over again." Lame.
-
Where did anyone PROMISE that?

You aren't pleased? cool. -Bungie

I'll trade my account and everyone else's for servers that don't suck

If we lose them, I -blam!-ing quit.

1 ReplyHopefully . We need a new fresh slate. Our characters don't even talk so who cares honestly !! Grow up
-
I'll be fine with all the gear we have becoming obsolete, but I love my Titan. What if we could only keep one Character? That would be pretty interesting.
-
In destiny 2 you start as a fallen bro. And the story is about what happened between your kind and the traveler. After year 1 you start getting wrecked by these things called guardians. Mostly zombies with weapons. 😂😂😂 dam it could be anything at this point really.
-
I'm undecided about it...I would be really upset if we can't carry our characters over but it wouldn't be the first time we've had to start characters over in a game series... However if we can't the game better be damn different and have more character progression
-
That's a stupid question! Destiny 2 is gonna be an entirely new game.
-
I would prefer not to, but if they give a good enough reason, i guess it would be ok.
-
2 RepliesMy guardian is me! If I can't keep him in 2, Bungie will literally have killed me! Think of the people Bungie!

7 RepliesI would prefer a brand new game, with brand new mechanics. This mean a character cannot just map over with the new talents, mechanics etc over to the new game. If your character could transfer, then it will be just another expansion pack on the current Destiny, which quite honestly would defeat the purpose of it being a proper sequel. This will just not make any sense, and quite frankly be disappointing. At best cosmetics could be carried over., but I won't be bothered if that doesn't happen at all. As long as it is a proper sequel with new bells and whistles it should be an adventure on it's own, and in no way rely on the storyline of the first Destiny.
-
The only things I would expect them to carry over are our character's faces and small things like emblems maybe.
-
You're one of the many posts on here that are scared that our characters aren't transferring over to the next game. Nothing has been confirmed other than its release in 2017. You need to chill man. Worry about it when official details are announced.

5 RepliesI hope so. This game not only needs a complete reset. But a completely new take. Keep the core gameplay the same, but change pretty much everything else.
