Are we losing our characters in Destiny 2?
I keep seeing news articles about how Destiny 2 will be a clean slate, with new characters. If that is the case I'm not to pleased about that. Bungie promised at the beginning of Destiny that we would keep our characters for the 10 year plan of the game. To go back on that promise would really be doing the fans a disservice.

I don't care if they take all the gear, weapons, and other garbage. I'd like to keep my 3 toons, subclasses, shaders, and emblems...and maybe a couple ships.

I hope they take our characters. The idea of starting fresh in a possibly different world sounds better than keeping the shit I currently have. I'm done with Destiny, bring on 2

4 RepliesRemove weapons and armour, class items and ghost shells, and artifacts too. Just keep ships, sparrows, shaders, emblems and emotes. Also subclass progress. Then I will be ok.

If they don't carry weapons or armour over I won't be too bothered. They better let you keep everything else however

I'm not sure I care either way, simply because my character really doesn't [i]have[/i] any character. I really hope that Destiny 2 remedies this.

I feel they will do a Mass Effect type deal. You keep your characters physical traits/accomplishments etc. But skill progress get broken down into bonus experience towards whatever the new subclasses are. I can also see them granting some gear but not our entire inventory

I would like my [u]Hunter[/u], he is my original Guardian, to transfer over. Not my armor, weapons, artifacts, or class items. Something like. I load up Destiny 2 and get the option to port my Human Hunter to the game but not my gear. Also a cool cloak, or bond and mark for my other two Guardians, to commemorate the continued service of my Guardian, maybe even ship or sparrow too. I don't mind starting from scratch and don't want game changing things. I just want to keep playing with the three Guardians I started this journey with.

If they do it would be absolute nonsense as there was hardly any closure for the first Destiny! I mean RoI was alright but in no way did it tie up anything! It probably would have made more sense to leave after Oryx, so I hope the story continues with the guardian/s we have, if only for a portion of the story in Destiny 2! I wanna know what the -blam!- happens to my boys!!

I am not a day one player,I started destiny on january 2015,and i love it.I hope Bungie decide to let us keep our character in the future...I love my Hunter as the Warlock and Titan too...I will be very disappointed if they delete them. I hope that they let us keep almost the subclasses and exotic,the grimoire level too...they cannot cancel everything(I mean we hope).

No its a new game everything will be different old weapons will no longer exist so there is no point its a completely new game

7 RepliesI'm glad we get to make new characters. When I play a new Elder Scrolls or Fallout game I don't expect all my old stuff from the previous game to carry over. Its a new experience.
