Are we losing our characters in Destiny 2?
I keep seeing news articles about how Destiny 2 will be a clean slate, with new characters. If that is the case I'm not to pleased about that. Bungie promised at the beginning of Destiny that we would keep our characters for the 10 year plan of the game. To go back on that promise would really be doing the fans a disservice.

Honestly, screw the weapons and gear carrying over, I just want to have the same guardians I created in 2014 to make it through to the next game. If it's a brand new game, then I'm going to want the new weapons and armor that come with it.

I was atleast expecting destiny 2 to build on the very little content that number one gave us, looks like we will be sold a 60 pound game with 75 pounds worth of dlc attached making our experience even smaller and barely building on the infinite reaches of the universe the game is set in

Guess what, everything is speculation right now. Until Bungo comes out and says themselves that you won't keep your characters, assume you'll keep them.

I don't want a destiny 2 with all the same shit I've been using and dealing with for years. Plus a stat wipe is always nice

I like the idea of being able to bring specific things across say they let u pick one legendary n one exotic of each type to bring across, but it'd be unavailable until you finished the story and we're at the level cap in the new game. But yeah start us from level 1 again that would ruin it for me if I'm 40 or 50 or whatever by the time it comes out.

I'm a Beta player with 2000 plus hours in and honestly I dont care if they reset my sh1t. I have no connection to the specific character as I generally wear a helmet all the time and also I have three characters so which one am "I" exactly. I want to go through the whole leveling and finding gear process again as its enjoyable becoming more powerful day by day. I'm also happy to leave all my gear and weapons behind for the same reasons. Altough I do hope they bring back some weapons or at least spiriitual successors to certain weapons, Gally, FB, Icebreaker etc but again I want to go earn them. That being said I also want them to reward day 1 players in some way say an emblem or shader or similar. Maybe even something that gives you a tiny but none gamebreaking advantage over none day 1ers. Say a slightly higher glimmer cap or similar for those that did both years moments of trumph, not that exactly but someting like that.

Most likely. That's pretty much what happened in the Halo games. Except it'll be a little more..... emotional

They aren't going to come out and say whether they will or not for the sole reason that at least 25% of their player base will jump ship now with no incentive to continue the grind if their gear will become obsolete.

I don't care if they take all the gear, weapons, and other garbage. I'd like to keep my 3 toons, subclasses, shaders, and emblems...and maybe a couple ships.
