175 exotic engrams currently in my vault
99 armor....76 weapon. All three of my characters will be close to max light on first day...lol. How many have YOU saved?

Edit #2: I have been around since day one and know all about the past history of exotic engrams. If they work they work - if they don't they don't. I have every frigging exotic and had no reason to decode them. I never expected them to decode into the new exotics - if they do great. My best hope was that they would assist in raising my light level from the start. Worst case I am gonna rank up the cryptarch a shitload for packages.
Edit #3: LOL. A lot of posts in this thread. To keep the negative posts down I will address some things I've seen. I have a job and a wife (and a child) and together we make well over $200K per year. These engrams were accumulated over many months as I have all the exotics. Why not save them and hope for the best. I'm not going to decrypt any of the engrams (ok - maybe one of each) until I have ran the story mission/strikes/etc as blues and greens will be higher than our current light level. I havent complained yet about lack of content. I will just start saving for the next expansion as I did this one. :)

1 ReplyI really hope they don't carry over. Otherwise mad complaints on the first week because ppl ran out of stuff to do/get. Can't think of any other game where you can cheat through a brand spanking new expansion by hoarding items.

I used 3 of coins like crazy for 2 solid months and only ended up with about 50 between weapons and armor (and I played a lot and used them every chance I had). Also if you use TOC to get exotics the drop rate is about 10% so that means you would have to have done 1,750 events to get 175 exotics.

I have a bout 68ish total. lol there's like 15 each in all my character's postmasters cuz vault space. I also have 4 of each sublime engram type just in case theres some new gear from them.

Don't see the point. This will likely be the final big piece we get before D2. See no reason to be max light on day one. Gonna slow down and enjoy the game.

doubtful you'll hit max light from those. But it's possible. I'm way too stoked for new exotic weapons and getting right into the archon's forge. Gonna wreck so many faces in there
