It's overwhelming how much of it there is, in the U.I and in game. If you want to see it even more go to the post master and see how terrible it is. It's already bad enough we're all stuck playing this amazing game at 30 frames, Now we have to sit here and play it with this too?! Guy's c-mon... you're better than this.
(Update) still grainy.. but I thought you guys and gals would like to know that exotic boot engrams are decrypting past 335. Although you should still save them till expansion for a chance at the new items. I tried 2 boots and one was 337 then 334. Seems like a hit or miss situation.
(2nd update) trending! let's hope someone notices this. For the record, giving guardian's the choice to have it on or off would be my solution. Being given the Choice is always the best course of action.
(3rd update) just to be clear because some are questioning my setup. I have a 50inch led tv, patch is live and running fine. Hdmi cable is fine as well, tried switching just to check still graininess remains, tested other games and as I suspected this issue is isolated only to destiny. It was not there before patch, but as soon as I finished downloading it I loaded up and from the character select screen and it was noticeable, even more so when looking at the background of the post master.
(Last update guys going to bed) firstly, thank you to all guardian's who helped bring this to light, and for those who kept it civil doing so.
We were successful in gathering enough light to summon iron lord Cosmo! Let's hope they can get to the bottom of it.
Good morning fellow guardians, just though I'd let you all know that I tried taking a pic, but film grain isn't something you would notice on a still frame. Tried recording and for some reason (probably lowers quality when you record) its not as visible. But trust me it's there. I imagine cozmo wouldn't have responded so fast if it wasn't. Reading further into his response it's clear to me this was not intended, so for all the unnecessarily negative comments out there please keep it civil. As with most patches bugs such as this are common place. We as a community have already done our part by bringing it to their attention, now it's time to let them get to work, and it wouldn't hurt to give-em some words encouragement. God forbid if we thanked them! ( initiating sarcasm.. thanks alot deej!) J/k tips hat to fellow warlock.
(What we have confirmed thus far) *It's affecting both consoles.
*There are some who are reporting that they don't have the issue, which confirms that this was not intended or else everyone would see it.
*Many testify to it not being there prior to patch including myself.( this post was made within minutes of loading up after the patch was live for me and noticing the obvious difference. )
*Seems worst in dark areas. (The dark blade boss fight is reported to be the worst so far.)
I'll try and keep you all apprised of what I find as I find it.
And for those genuinely trying to help by leaving a comment,
thank you all, and sorry in advance if I didn't get to you. This is my 2nd time posting on the forums so I'm new to managing all this.
Last update! (unless the hot fix fails that is) In the recent update by bungie, they announced that on monday (19th) they'll be launching a hot fix to get rid of this film grain glitch that's affecting so many guardians. In the immortal words of Fox Mcloud.. "mission complete!". thanks goes out to everyone for standing behind this and raising enough light to get bungie's attention, this could not have been done without your continued support of this thread so thank you all. I have been lurking these forums since day one, This was my second time posting on the forums in the 3 years I have been playing this game due to how terribly toxic the community can be. But today, my faith in humanity has been restored. We did it guys, (well bungie did actually).
And to iron lord cosmo..
from a fellow Guardian, I salute you and your entire team of amazing devs. Thanks for keeping your word and for you continued support of this amazing game.
And to the bungie team.
You guys had a rough start in year one with the beginning of year two showing some serious promise(though the content drought that followed after should never be repeated please) i have always understood that destiny is a ten year game and I am here for the long haul, so Don't let me down.
I stand with bungie.
See you later space cowboy's.

Edited by Quaddity: 9/10/2016 2:04:12 PMObvious graininess to me on a 55" screen. It's really obvious on the orbit screen looking at your ship. XB1.

I play on a 43" LED LG Smart TV and the grain was noticeable from the second I booted up Destiny after the update went live. It's a shame but something I am hoping gets corrected before the 20th
-
Looks like they've been playing silent hill
-
3 RepliesJust played the dark blade strike and the grain is brutal
-
2 RepliesI only notice while in the inventory screen can't notice while in game
-
3 RepliesI sit back and good distance from my TV and don't really notice it. But when I get within about 5-7 ft it's very noticeable. Ps4 55" Samsung led 1080p (game mode) Everything else looks good and crisp. And perhaps it's just me but hit detection in pvp and players not showing up on radar is the worst I've ever seen since the update.

3 RepliesPeople are moaning so much it's not that bad and could be to do with when we get to the plague lands in the snow it would look better but all this moaning might make bingo remove it before rise of iron thus giving us a poorer experience when roi drops
-
I have a 65" 4K oled tv (lg). The grain is very noticeable even at 7-8 feet away. Plus I'm seeing flickering in the inventory screen.
-
I dont everythings fine for me 👍🏻👍🏻
-
Time to put some more tinfoil on my rabbit ear antennas lol
-
3 RepliesYup and personally I think it's fantastic 😊

Edited by GeneJumper: 9/10/2016 2:21:58 PMIt's bad when scoping in, especially scoping into brighter areas of a map the grain looks like a blanket of fog. Tried to capture in attached image I am on ps4 with a really good gaming specific monitor
-
I have a ps4 and Xbox one connected to the same TV and my ps4 has the issue while my Xbox one does not.
-
I thought it was 60 FPS
-
I see it, I just don't think its a problem
-
3 RepliesI also stand with Bungie. Actually, the film grain reminds me of the beta :)
-
2 Replies1 more just for those who like to argue , remember if this was a TV issue it will not be visible on a screenshot .
-
What's the deal? It's barely noticeable when your focusing on playing.
-
Any updates on this yet??

2 RepliesEdited by RickNashtyNYR: 9/10/2016 5:19:25 AMGood I'm not the only one that noticed. I'm a diabetic and thought my eye sight was deteriorating
-
Personally as soon as i booted the game up i thought the graphics looked worse. More jaggies, horrible grain effect and swapping the bounties and faction progression bars around has irked me. Why have you made the character background a darker shade of blue? The weapon and armour upgrade circles don't stand out as much now. Please sort the grain effect out it gives me a headache.
-
Personal Opinion. Its not that bad, but it does remind me of Arkham Knight. I more or less wish the option was there.
-
Nope. Not even Alak Hul strike did anything different
-
In the media room my Panasonic 1ms LED LCD looks fine, in the living room the older edge lit Samsung LCD is grainy, my son's room, his 47" Visio (6 year old TV) looks fine as well. Any update on what may cause this?
-
Maybe a AA problem to. Noticing more Banding and jaggies. What's strange, the effects and certain colors seem more vibrant and look better. I sit pretty far from a 1080p 65" so I'm only noticing the grainy look in certain areas. Mainly in dark scenes like the sunless cell boss fight, have someone put a bubble up there the bubble looks fd!

Just playing for first time since the update. I'm also getting the grain. More noticeable in menus than the actual game. I'm just gonna be patient and wait cos they obviously know there's an issue.
