I met my fireteam IRL :)
I AM NOT FROM THE US!!!
[spoiler]Why do people have to explain everything to you in this place[/spoiler]
So I've been playing Destiny with two other guys regularly, for a while now.
One of them I know from the 360 days, back in HoW and the other has been off and on for a while, but became a steady team mate this last spring.
I play with these guys daily. We chit chat about everything and nothing. We also live in kind of the same general area of the country.
Last night we finally met up and grabbed our first beer together. It was so strange to watch.
Here's this kid that just finished high school. Then there's this tall skinny dude in his mid 20's and a 32 year old man. Sitting in a bar, talking for 3 hours straight. Laughing and teasing each other about stuff from a video game. If anyone tried to eavesdrop they would not be able to make out what the -blam!- we were saying. So funny.
I had never met them before in real life, but like, as soon as we saw each other we just started yapping on and on. It wasn't like "Oh I've never seen this person in my life. This is awkward". No. It was like we were in party chat being business as usual.
A great evening and I think we bonded even more.
There, just wanted to share this with everyone :) Destiny is so much more than just another video game.

3 of my team of 6 (me included) all go to the same school so we meet on the daily. I'd love to chill with the other 3 though.

I was one of those people who smashed the game when it came out and was a bit ahead of everyone. Any who I was chilling in tower and noticed the first two people up at my level I head seen. I asked them to group up for some strikes. Turns out they were both close to my age and lived/grew up about 40 minutes from where I grew up. They had other IRL friends/siblings playing too. This meant we became a raid group from the release of VoG. We kept playing and shit until we all sort of left the game at the end of last year. I continue to play OW, ElderScrollsOnline, and CSGO with them and know them pretty well. I still have not met them, even when I go home I don't bother to meet them. I'm sure I will one day, just never really got around to it haha.

Me and a friend drove for 8 hours across Sweden to see our fireteam. Took about half a beer before we were friends IRL. Best trip I had in years.

I'm fairly certain that it is illegal for someone less than 21 years of age to consume alcohol, including beer? Other than that, good story. Edit: evidently he is not in the US. My bad. I assumed he was from the US, because he typed "I had never met them before in real life, but like, as soon as....", and I've only ever met Americans who misuse the word "like" in that way. #TitanMasterRace

2 RepliesHmm, have thought about meeting up with the lads I normally party up with - we have played everything since Battlefield 3 / 4 / Hardline / Destiny. Not sure how it would go through - they are loose af and I would most likely end up arrested...
