Maybe b/c we've been through this song and dance multiple times the last couple years!
You WILL NOT get new items.
If it were an update that was introducing, or bringing forward older weapons, like the April update, you would have a chance at rolling new stuff. Doesn't work with whole new expansions.
However, you'll upgrade Cryptarch rank and replenish your exotic shard inventory.

Things do change you know.... so Not is your opinion not a stated fact.
-
Oh boy... Save your engrams hoping to decrypt new gear, then get back to me when you're let down. I doubt they're going to change something like that, especially when it would be beneficial to players and possibly cut down on play time that players would otherwise be spending in game hunting exotics. Believe me or don't. Just saying that's how it has been for two years now.
-
Yes but you have NO PROOF!
-
What are you talking about "no proof?" I guess the hundreds of players I've come across and their experiences, my own experiences, and the devs even confirming before that this practice would not work to acquire new gear isn't good enough for ya? If that's the case then go -blam!- yourself! Was trying to be helpful and asshats like yourself just want to antagonize. Nowhere in my initial comments did I berate or belittle anyone, but go ahead and be an ass yourself.
-
Pretty sure i havnt belittled anyone you are just getting your knickers in a twist because you are wrong.
-
Dear -blam!-ing God quit saying I'm wrong. Google the goddamn posts on this topic from every time an expansion or update has come out and you will see that it was confirmed by that engrams are coded to specific content windows. I'll admit, the FACTS from the past don't 100% dictate the future, but they also don't devolve to opinion.
-
Find me anything within the last 2 months that says they definitely wont decrypt into new items or at higher light levels and I will drop the subject and you will be my god. Take your time I believe you may need it.
-
Done holding back now. Are you -blam!-ing just plain ole stupid? Did you not read my last -blam!-ing comment? I'm not typing it again.
-
NO PROOF
-
Well, you just answered my question. Guess you're proud of your illiteracy and wear it like a badge of stubborn dickishness.
-
Funny how you have to resort to insults because you can't show any evidence of your claim. You might need to look into getting stress help because it seems you are losing it a little friend.
-
Nope. You're just refusing to actively read my comments, and you're being passive aggressive with me. I stated a few comments ago that I realize just because it has worked one way for two years now doesn't mean that it will 100% work the same way in the future. I would bet anything I could bet that they're not going to change it for RoI, however. Not trying to tell you or anyone how to play - was just trying to be helpful by stating how I know it to have worked since launch. Probably getting you confused and crossed with others in this thread who are being completely stubborn and antagonistic about the issue. I apologize for sounding cross, but this has quickly escalated into the most frustrating conversation (not just you, whole thread) I've participated in on this forum, and that is saying something. Again, maybe it won't hold true, but that does not change facts from the past.
-
Thankyou. Thats all i really wanted. I have never once said that it will definitely happen just find people that use definitives when they have nothing but the past to base that on a bit condescending. I am happy to admit the chances of it happening are probably small but there is a chance. The last time we had a content update it happened so as unlikely as it may be there is a chance. Writing things like IT WILL NOT HAPPEN is pure opinion. I shall end the conversation here. Good luck in the future with all your duck business.
-
The last time we had a content update it happened so as unlikely as it may be there is a chance.
You're completely right: in the past updates we have been able to get the fresh gear with stored engrams. Expansions are different in that they come with a new loot table and that loot has never been decrypted from engrams stored before the expansions release. That's the difference that is so often overlooked/ misunderstood. Again though, maybe they'll change that function. No way in hell I'm betting on that.
-
I think the reason people are hopeful it will happen is because there had only been one free content update like the April update and it happens to have been the last content update so while unlikely it is possible that this new paid content will follow suit however unlikely.
-
Just because something has happened before doesnt mean it will happen again. Your argument ia like saying...'Britain will always be a part of the EU because it aleays has been before' consistency does not equal proof.
-
It worked in those previous times.... Kinda kills your claim
-
My claim isn't a claim, it's a spot in fact! As my comment said: it works with updates that are releasing new items or bringing forward old items. IT HAS NEVER WORKED WITH NEW EXPANSIONS. Choose not to believe me though, I've only been through this every update and expansion.
-
Unless you work at Bungie you have no solid proof...so making definitive claims is pretty dumb. It's probable you are right but you have no more knowledge than anyone else that plays the game so yes it's an opinion nothing more.
-
Ive been through every update and expansion as well and its always worked. New stuff was always earned from stored engrams even in expansions. So you can go take your claim somewhere else
-
Yes, it worked/works with updates, NOT expansions. You guys will ague about anything on these forums. Tried to be helpful, but only met with smart-assery. SMFH.
-
Wrong. Its always worked with both
-
Never for me or anyone else I've played with and spoken to in the subject and it was even mentioned by the devs before TTK came out. You are lying and spreading misinformation.
-
No it did not, the developers even mentioned that at least once. Stop misinforming people.
