Anyone have a problem with Handcannon shots not registering?

Been having a bit of trouble every once in awhile with this. Wondering if I'm just off my game or if anyone else has this problem. I'll shoot and swear I see the bullet connect but they take no damage. *EDIT: For those saying I should just pace my shots - Trust me. I do. My problem isn't pacing. It's that my headshots don't register sometimes even when I do. Or sometimes you don't have the option of pacing because every other weapon type will kill you too fast. I'll get shot 4 to 5 times with MIDA at ANY range before I can fire off more than 1 or 2 shots.

  • I know what you mean. There are times when I'm positive I hit the person in the head, as I visibly see their head rattle from the shot, but no damage occurs.

  • Not when I have explosive rounds on. They always hit. I take them over a range perk any day.

  • If you have Ace of spades try it out..That combo of stupid range good base aim assist and Sure shot IS makes it a pretty accurate pvp HC.

    • I have a lord high fixer with rangefinder and rifled barrel. Some ranges shots register perfectly fine. Yet today i let the gun settle and go for the shot well within its max range and it didnt register at all. It should have hit for a body shot because i aimed for between the shoulders but it did literally nothing. Im not sure if it was lag but the game said we were both green bar so if anybody can shed any light on what the issue may have been it would be appreciated

    • Yeah I am. I'm not very good with HC but was able to get the 10 HC kills for the Shaxx bounty in at least 2 matches. Now if I'm very unlucky it can take me 4-5 matches because of bullets not registering. The laughable balance they've done to weapons. What's dumb about TLW is it's low range can kill with 3 shots @ medium range. Yet no matter if I'm using Eysluna, Lord High Fixer, The Devil You Know, Byronic Hero, my 1 bullet that registered a hit only causes 10% damage this the enemie's shield. What I don't get is in the ToO streams that I watch every weekend, there's always a streamer that's using say Eysluna and it's always 3 shots, 3 hits -> 1 kill........ And they're not pacing their shots.

        • Handcannons have been made unreliable and reliability rules PVP. I have a cache of Rifled barrel, high impact, Sureshot HC's in Imago Loops, Perills, LHF's, Vanity, etc and rarely use them in PVP. As for TLW, sits in the vault. I was there when I could HC against anything else primary and have a chance at a win. Now, that's only if they are in range of my Melee! Otherwise, their Pulse/Scout/AR will beat me every time. That is balanced! Right... I have an Imprecation and will not complete the quest. It shoots like a drunk toting a smooth bore musket and the reward is already butchered. There is no reason for me to complete the quest, none! And, they will butcher HC's again. They just can't help it anymore. It's just pathetic now...

                • My outlaw wasn't working consistently last night in COE. I was defo getting precision kills, as you can 1 shot a lot of the ads in rounds 1 & 2 Hope this isn't more woe to heap onto hand cannon users

                • My First Curse has had the most phantom bullets I have had on a gun through my yeara of Destiny since release. I remember the good ol' days when the game didn't make me almoat break my controller because I get shooting players POINT BLANK and they would die. I tried 3 different pistols to make sure. First Curse, Lord High Fixer, The Devil You Know. They all don't register for shit on players have the time. My ass had to turn to a Univseral Remote because pistols -blam!-ing suck dick.

                  • For me it's just hawkmoon I can't hit shit with When it comes to Luna or tlw they feel crisp and clean. They take some getting used to but once you have it hc are imo the best weapons in the game Except hawkmoon, it's just shit right now. Makes me saaaaad

                  • Find a hand cannon with range finder. It fixes ghost bullets. Rifles barrel and rangefinder together=y1 hand cannon

                      • Hand cannons are the most used weapon in trials now at 36% of the people in trials, they are very good and can outgun other weapons up to medium range with ease. You are not going to map someone with a hand cannon just because you used to be able to. Learn their effective range and get used to the gun.

                        • Using First Curse, I do not suffer from the bloom game mechanic, I very rarely if ever see any of these so called phantom bullets. There was one incident that I was certain was 'undeniable proof', but that was proven to be just plain old lag, other than that I have had no other reason to doubt the rounds that I have fired. You know, sometimes you could just simply have missed. Just because there is an ingame mechanic that 'can' makes shots less accurate, it does not mean that you can absolve yourself of any error, and just blame that. Everyone misses shots, you, me, that guardian over there. Do not be so quick to blame something, when in nine cases out of ten, the fault is a lot closer to home. Practice, practice, and practice some more. Hand cannons are not pick up and play weapons.
