No one knows. Maybe there isn't one. It sucks and then we die. Just do things that make you happy and cause as little harm to others as possible along the way.

I'd always like to think that humans are just the first level of existence for us and life in general. After the life has died in this form, we are elevated to the next level of existence until we die there, raising level again and increasing wisdom each time. I'm not religious, I'm agnostic, but I'd rather not think that total darkness and ceasing to exist is our future. Too boring.

Depends on your religious beliefs mostly. For me it is to live life to its fullest. A dull and boring life is a wasted one.
