It's not -blam!-ing fun

3 RepliesIt's getting old fast. Put it simply, you want to do well in Trials, be good at sniping. I just don't understand why I can fire constant headshots with a scout rifle at a sniper and still get sniped in the head every -blam!-ing time. Where's the -blam!-ing flinch?!

3 RepliesEdited by SpacemanSpff434: 7/12/2016 2:16:01 PMBut they'll nerf the guns that could counter a sniper. The mida added flinch when shooting someone, but they took that out which gutted a good gun for dealing with snipers. Thorn was also pretty good, that green screen messed up snipers and the dot forced them To back off. The one solution they had was to reduce ammo on snipers, but that affected pve way more than pvp. I honestly don't mind it so much, but when you shoot first and are two shots in and this sniper is still able to ping you it sucks. At worst they get a headshot and take you out, at best they get a body shot and now your health is lower than theirs and you are forced to retreat. Add flinch and de-scope on head shots. Make it so that skill is rewarded, and the risk/reward is balanced.

Edited by SamSu916: 7/12/2016 2:32:23 PMSolution that doesn't make sense but would discourage melee range quickscope is that the closer they are to you the less damage the sniper rifle deals. Like within 10 meters = 80% damage deduction, 20 meters = 70%, 30 meters = 60% and anything further will deal full damage. Bungie did mention they wanted to discourage close range sniper usage. If this isn't discouraging I don't know what is. Alternatively you can make each subsequent shot flinch them more and more. One shot = regular flinch and every subsequent shot flinches dealing 5~10~20~50%(caps at 50% no matter the weapon types) more flinch depending on the impact archetype. I would place the hand cannons at 50% more flinch per subsequent shot since that is the hardest hitting primary and one of the slowest. Like have you ever shot a sniper in the head twice and they just drop you after being red bar? Yeah things like that shouldn't be happening often at all yet it is VERY common.

1 ReplyI only play Destiny when mayhem is out. Rest of the time. I'm off playing something else.

1 ReplyI think it's getting to the point in pvp that you can't peak anywhere without getting sniped, and it's so easy to snipe that everyone does it, what happen to just having gun battles, I can't have a gun battle with a guy looking down sniper standing in one spot. Oh and getting sniped from 10 feet away, not cool.
-
1 ReplyAgreed. It's one of the reasons I steer clear of PvP. It's just not fun enough to be a worthwhile activity.

7 RepliesThere is clearly only one solution to this... My nieces and nephews play Disney Infinity. They have unlimited lives and pass all of the levels with ease. Maybe this would be a better game for you. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

1 ReplyFor me, my experience in crucible lately has been horrible. Special weapons are all I have been able to use. None of my primaries seem to work very well. Snipers need more flinch. If you are shooting a sniper with a pea shooter they should flinch and make it harder to get that head shot. Snipers are fine otherwise, It's supposed to be a powerful weapon to be used from a distance. Just need to primaries useful again. Grenades should be killing, but now barely do damage. In PVP we have a small selection of primaries that are effective. I truly believe that hit detection is way off the mark, Lag is incredibly high (Bungie has their own servers the devs play on, they don't experience what we do), special weapons dominate. Weapon stats should represent weapon performance. Party Crasher for instance has almost no range in stats but in game can one shot kill from 50 feet.

It's annoying. Nearly unbearable. In the most recent IB, it was 6v5 spawn camping with snipers. (I was running around with a shotgun) The TTK and gameplay is getting sooooo slow it's unbearable. Something needs to change. (not nerfs) The most fun I've had in the crucible was in Classic 6v6 when combined arms came up a few days ago.

I have been shotgun snipped quite often lately. If you have taken any damage at all they can just no scope like a shotgun. Good to see they are all fixed.
-
If I'm gonna die I want it to be because a sniper got me from the other side of the map. Not because I lost a close quarters battle.

XIM4 adapter. It's easier to maintain your aim under fire with a mouse. Any gud youtuber or twitch streamer worth his salt uses one.
-
I love sniping but I would say add glitch when getting headshot or de-scope.

Bump sort the hard scopers

1 ReplyWhen do you people see this snipe fest? In normal crucible? Because I don't....in Rumble the shotgun still rules and in normal crucible I see a lot of variation in control and salvage. Are you speaking of trials???? It's an ELIMINATION type game mode! Of course the weapon that can 1 shot from a distance is going to be used a lot!!!! Blame the game mode

Is Destiny in its third year yet? Just wondered how many years it would be before you finally stopped playing the game you hate.

29 RepliesSnipers are fine. If you keep running into the same hallway or doorway then it's no ones fault, but your own when you get domed.
-
I also think they need some adjustment. In order to make sure pve players aren't severely affected, I suggest that body shot damage is about halved, and aim assist needs to be dropped to numbers <50 at least. PvE players won't feel the blow too much as I know aim assist is rarely needed and nobody tries for a bodyshot on an enemy, unless you're desperate and using a sniper like a shotgun, I've been there. I think this would be a good balance. What do you all think?

No thank you, I like the different range options for PvE, and I'd rather PvE not be bent over a barrel lubeless for the sake of the whiny PvP crowd, again. -Everyone who plays PvE

Edited by Bajka: 7/12/2016 7:45:40 AMThat shouldn't be a problem if they fix the damn Primaries. they are shit right now. I snipe all the time. i wouldn't want a sniper nerf. i die from it all the time.
-
did common sense slip you're brain when it comes to the mechanics of fps and the option to snipe?
-
3 Repliesi always use a sniper rifle but i don't camp in the back of maps like a KD sissy. i hate shotguns, sidearms, and fusion rifles that doesn't leave many other options
-
It's also not that bad. I agree they need to de-scope on hit, otherwise, stay out of the sniper channels and flank them.
-
1 ReplyIn my experience shotguns are still the main problem. See shotgun sliders all over the map. As well as shotguns one-hitting beyond their ranges. Even though they've nuked it several times. Hell, saw someone using Felwinters Lie in year 2 a while back.
-
2 RepliesI don't run into these problems. Ever.

It makes for great montage videos and helps streamers maintain viewers.
