Sniper rifle 8% Skirmish Sniper rifle ~20% Auto Rifle ~19% Hand Cannons ~16% Shotguns ~15% Salvage Autorifle ~19% Shotgun 19% Hand Cannon 18% ... Sniper rifle 14% Clash Auto Rifles 22% Scout rifles 19% Pulse Rifles 18% Shotguns 13% ... Sniper rifle 10% Rumble Auto rifle 24% (gone down to 15% since june) Hand Cannon 22% Shotguns 20% ... Sniper Rifles ~6% ToO Sniper rifle 35% Shotgun 18% Scout Rifle 15% IB Auto Rifles 25% Pulse Rifle 18% Shotguns 16% ... Sniper Rifle 8% Rift Auto and Pulse Rifle ~18% Shotguns 16% ... Snipers 12% So in conclusion from what I can see, snipers are only " purely dominant" in ToO, asides ToO only Skirmish has higher kill rate by Snipers than shotguns. In ALL games modes EXCEPT ToO and practically tied with Skirmish, the weapon on the top is either Auto Rifles or Pulse Rifles. Now I am not gonna enter into whether or not they are op etc. Just stating facts, you might not like them but they are there. You can now come up to your own conclusions. And before you say anything about maps, there is very little difference in 6v6 modes regarding the map, it is a bit more noticeable in ToO but still no major variations.

1 ReplyThis is the result of all the nerfs. The people that cried constantly for nerfs brought this on themselves. There were many counters to snipers, but Bungie nerfed them all to appease the crybabies. Now snipers are running rampant just like shotguns were because Bungie listened to the crybabies and took away the counters. You reap what you sow.

You probably have me muted but goddamn, you don't understand how happy it makes me to see you speak out about this. It's no secret that you have influence, and usually have your finger on the pulse community-wise... I mean we're playing a game where our characters have the potential to fly around kicking ass like superheroes... And the game has slowed down to a military shooter pace in year two. I wish more people could see, but a lot of players are pragmatic, and have adjusted to what the game is now. Sigh... Again man, thanks for posting this.

Well it kind of is with all the aim assist and flinch jumbo that I well not pretend I know very well about. But it is definitely not every map and every game. An argument can be made for any weapon if there is enough hate.

4 Repliesit must be fun. they have had the sniper/scout meta for 10 months now. no sign of them moving away at all fml this has been the longest most boring period of this game ever. I'd happily take thorn and fellwinters back now. at least people moved then.

2 RepliesEdited by Nerevar: 7/13/2016 3:24:08 PM1000 yard stare is the 2nd most used weapon in crucible, longbow is number 4. Party crasher and conspiracy aren't higher than 5 and 8. But yeah sniping is totally balanced right? When these 2 specials are being used more than every single primary other than mida. Go look up the pvp ranks on destinytracker for weapons if you don't believe me. If they flinched a lot more that would be a good start: It's so dumb when they just stand there and eat 3 pulse bursts and then hit you with a headshot anyway while you are mid strafe and they have about 5 hitpoints left.

1 ReplyThey should take away the scope choice and make them barrel choices. Then make all snipers either 8x or 12x (if you're standing on one side of pantheon, scoping in should bring you so close that you can see your enemy smile). It also wouldn't hurt if they added a sway/hold breath mechanic like almost every other FPS in existence. The probem with snipers is that there is virtually no risk in using them. All other special weapons are high risk/high reward.

Sniping is the new meta del with it or just stop playing like me they will not do a shit about it. The strongest weapon in destiny is the snipers no doubt about it, no matter the range, no matter if u have a heavy machingun high impact, no matter if u on súper mode, 1shot or 2 shot that all u need. You just need to get used to sniping and dodging snipers. Its easy once you do this.
