Fix Trials: Only one lighthouse trip per character
[b]BEFORE YOU READ, I HAVE BEEN TO THE LIGHTHOUSE OVER 20 TIMES, CHECK MY STATS. THIS IS ABOUT THE COMMUNITY, NOT ME. ATTACK ALL YOU WANT. DEAF EARS ;)[/b]
This is not an original suggestion. Many have suggested before. Of course we know the suggestion could be circumvented. Two measures can fix it.
- Only one [b][u]lighthouse trip[/u][/b] per character, per week (max of 3 trips).
- [b]To prevent carrier streamers from resetting cards before a flawless, make it to where the fire team must have ALIGNED CARDS. That way the system can't be circumvented. What I mean by this is, if wins on cards on the fire team do not match, then you cannot enter the activity.[/b].
Another fix could be a tier system as many suggest.
The "carry" or even the steamer carry has completely taken over ToO and it's just dumb. It's become so ridiculous that the community actually has this weekly thread (this is indicative of a PROBLEM)

Regardless of steamers or just insane keyboard and mouse players with a massive advantage over those using a controller, there are people in Destiny who play trials merely to keep others out. You want to talk about bad for the game? Cure this cancer.
For the "git gud" and "KD matters" people
[spoiler]Trials is supposed to be competitive, and in it's current state it is NOT competitive for the upper skill tiers. Therefore, it is not competitive for lower tiers because they can't compete. What's ironic is that the elitist PvP players always say " playing tough opponents makes you better," yet they have no desire to play people on thier level in most cases. They jsut want to stomp casuals and feel superior. If they actually face an opponent of thier skill level, they complain that it's too hard and that they're mad lol. Total hypocrisy[/spoiler].

This would ruin some people's streaming careers (or at least damage their viewership) on Twitch and Bungie aren't going to hurt people who promote their game. I'm not going to argue with you (even though I disagree) but instead I'll just break it to you now that they aren't going to do this, no matter how many people reply to your post.

24 RepliesWhy is everyone so against streamers carrying people? If you're in the top 1% of players, you deserve all the praise and attention you get. And if you're willing to take your time to use your talent and help other less talented people with it, then good on you. Furthermore, as someone else in this thread pointed out. Streamers are responsible for alot of the attention this game gets. For instance, on twitch, destiny is in the top 20 most streamed game. As it turns out, the vast majority of the streamers for destiny are trials carriers. This kind of attention is good for the game.

I think there should b a rank. If you go to the lighthouse this week on one character, then you will only play people who went to the lighthouse that week as well

6 RepliesIt is very difficult to even come close to the lighthouse unless you and all your friends are skilled , I have a .9 average kd in crucible over like 30 days of playtime and have been twice once was a free carry and the other a paid carry. apparently I can't simply " git gud". LFG is cancer with people wanting insane stats to be on their team. There is no fixing trials your either gonna cater to the elite top 1% or dumb down the experience and cater to the average. Tl;Dr wanna go to the lighthouse pay someone

7 RepliesThis is silly. Even if u do that The work around will be to take control of people's accounts and do it for them. There's no stopping it And there's nothing wrong with it. If u can't make it to the lighthouse U don't deserve it. Form a good team and and practice. A good Rez team can go a long way.

Why in the world would they ever reduce the amount of twitch streams that provide free advertising for their product? LH carries and the streamers who do them actually help keep Destiny in the spot light and help it maintain relevance. This is part of why it still has such a strong foothold after almost 2 years. They would be fools to ever do something like you suggest. And just to add a PVE reference point. You can do the raids as much as you want. You can help carry people through Atheon, Crota and Oryx as many times a week as you want to. You only get credit for once per character but you can still do them over and over.. and Trials is like that too.. You only get credit once per character per week but you can still do it over and over. I don't think creating walls to protect casuals from Tryhards is the answer. Now with that said. They should have a ranked playlist and add in the ability to have private matches.

Dumb post, don't suggest how much other people want to play certain playlists in the game just because you are getting dominated in it. Although, the streamer part of it is also dumb, but some people just get carried through the entire game.

Here's why this will never work: Besides streamers who carry people (and the assholes that do it for money), there are legit groups of teams with an odd number of members. Like 5 or 7 or 8 players. In clans/teams like that, 3 people are going to run games... leaving the potential for 1-2 members missing out on a run. There is absolutely no point for them to find a random, when they have 3 perfectly fine teammates who can run again with them. There is absolutely no reason, for friends to be locked out of content because they already did something. So this stupid ass idea, will always remain that.... a stupid ass idea. Streamers obviously take advantage of this for their own personal gain (more viewers = more money), but restricting normal players because of a bunch of assholes is not going to fly.

5 RepliesI can't stand these posts. If you want to get better at it play more. It's not like every single game you play you're up against God teir streamers. Speak honestly, that's really not what happens. You guys all whine and complain and want everything handed to you. The gear you get from flawless is the same as the gear you get from bounties and packages. I see lots of comments about casual gamers not having enough time to get as good as others. That is just a lazy excuse to begin with. The game mode is not built to worry about your outside commitments. If it's really something you care about getting better at and you desperately need to visit the lighthouse you will find time. Nothing from the lighthouse has any higher value than what can be attained at 5 and 7 wins. Also, in response to your ideas listed. You would lower the amount of players in the pool to get mm with, giving more lag and even more reasons for you to whine. I challenge any one of you to send an argument my way that is a solid one that I can't find a logical way to refute.

after first lighthouse visit, the team should have to be matched with another team that also has a lighthouse visit in the bag (per acct) - that way the plebs can get wins monday night against each other imo. :P
