Edit 20 hours: Almost 2000 votes. The reason I'm suggesting it is because that would be 200 million dollars bungie could use to make destiny better. Just saying, most of us know by now the money they lost from bonuses and that they need more money. This would just be extra revenue to improve future games.
Make a movie.
upvote if you agree so more people can see and be polled
No joke! That's it. Video game movies are all the rave right now. The shitty ones like battleship are gone and now they are doing assassins creed and warcraft.
We all remember the hype for destiny. The live action commercials were inspiring.
For the lack of story in the game, you could make a story on film.
1) Fans of the game will love it
2) effing Sci-Fi fans will love it
3) Action fans will love it
4)CGI is much cheaper than it used to be and much better
Undoubtedly one of the most well know (whether infamously or not) games in the last 5 years. Destiny 2 is coming out next year.
NOW IS THE PERFECT TIME TO RELEASE IT.
I just came back from warcraft not knowing anything about it and expecting a bad movie. It was way freaking cool and I know a Destiny movie would be cooler. So do movie companies.
Imagine seeing a fire team going into the vault on the big screen. Maybe a teaser of Eris reporting her teams failed attempts to stop Crota as the captain of the fire team is being debriefed about the vault of glass. Then the second film would be flashbacks of Eris' fire team and then the main fire team of legendary guardians from the first movie going in to take down Crota. Or show the battle of twilight gap. Maybe show some ahamkara or stuff we don't know about yet.
I know pitching it to a good movie company would be easy as well.
the hype is real so take advantage while the timing is good.
This could easily be a multi-movie deal.
Edit: Free game advertisement for your games and dlc and will get new players to join
Edit 2: Let me make it clear that bungie would receive the money from royalties and trademarks and because they own destiny. They wouldn't need to do anything with the movie. Honestly the movie could suck and people would throw money at the (big) screen lol just like bungie always wanted
Edit 3: There is definitely a problem waiting for destiny to release more games and become an established empire before making a movie. One, the destiny games won't benefit from added revenue, advertisement would go completely to the movie company and not to bungie. We'd know the story if we wait, that leave more freedom for script writers to take more freedom and mess up the movies and make them worse. They need to hit it while it's fresh for bungie to benefit and to make it good. Any story aside from game cannon would make the movie bad.

Fix the story line and use a movie to expand it. Then I'd consider it.
-
3 RepliesI'd rather have them work on destiny 2 and improve it

Edited by LunaFV: 6/9/2016 12:49:54 AMI'd personally prefer an animated series similar to the Star Wars the Clone Wars series (Not the more recent one with Ahsoka, the OG clone wars animation)
-
Bungee has created some of the best looking trailers...no doubt it would be a good movie
-
Nah, all of those movies sucked. I was all hyped for final fantasy back in the day and it was a crap ass movie.
-
It needs to be made by someone who actually has played the game, doesn't change anything about the original story or characters, and enjoyed it.
-
That would be cool seeing bosses like Crota in a non-cartoonish form. It would look more realistic.
-
Because video game movies have always been just, so good right?
-
Is that you, Uwe Boll?
-
Bungie's script leaked: Once upon a time the end.
-
Id be down to watch a story about shin malfur growing up then hunting down dregen yor. You have a point there is a ton of story material in the grimwire. Hell you could probibly make a movie series about oryx based on the books of sorrow
-
4 RepliesVideo game movies typically suck, but that might be the only way to bridge the gaps in the story from 1.0 and get more than a handful of people familiar with what is going on in the Grimoire portion of the tale.
-
As much as a movie sounds interesting, they'd find someway to -blam!- that up. Luke smith would blow a good portion of the budget on hookers and blow. Activision would step in and give us the " dont have to explain why we dont have time to explain" and the movie would clock in at 30 minutes 😂😂 I think destiny would make a great movie, it has the lore for it. But activision does not give two -blam!-s, and the executives dont give two -blam!-s either.

6 RepliesThey can barely tell a story in-game...
-
Edited by BERSEKAEL: 6/8/2016 4:33:52 PMThe movie will have Lag... And have to be in 3D, so that warlock can punch u in the face across the room.
-
Half way through, the movie would end and a weasel error code would appear....so, nah I voted against it.
-
2 RepliesTo have a movie you need a compelling story that is cohesive and makes sense. Destiny has none of that.

Edited by Paesano099: 6/8/2016 9:47:34 PMMovie ticket: 18$ Cut/additional scenes: 14$ Bonus microtransaction credits scene: 4$ I can see it already...

Edited by Strix: 6/8/2016 10:17:06 PMActually, I can see a good comedy being made from this. Warlock spots Titan idly scratching his balls in the crucible. Warlock
"NOVA BOMB!!!"...
Warlock
"Scatter Grenade!"...
Warlock
"faceslap-o-death?"...
Titan
"... shotgun."
How about a scene for our intrepid hunters, exploring the edges of civilization and holding the darkness at bay.
"Hey guys, I wonder what's over there?!" 4... 3... 2...
To be honest the cutscenes that we do see lately are pretty damn epic, I'd personally love to see some episodic stories
-
Novels like halo and mass effect had would be better
-
2 RepliesWouldn't watch it. Haven't even seen Warcraf yet,, but I'm guessing it's based on Warcraft 3, which was praised highly for it's story. On the other side, Destiny was highly ridiculed for its story. Or lack thereof. Not to mention that Blizzard has tons of loyal fans while Bungie has disappointed their's over and over for the past couple of years. Bungie needs to take things one step at a time, and a movie would not be the next step to take. Please fans first. When/if Destiny becomes a classic that fans can look back as a masterpiece, then start thinking about things like a movie.
-
Something animated would be better, animatrix and halo animated collections were amazing ways to expand lore and tell new stories, now that... I'd be all about
-
Ummmm all the halo "movies" we're horrible... Destiny doesn't have enough depth for a good movie yet...would just be bad...
-
So....a movie with no Plot? If you want that just go watch Dazed and Confused, or Mad Max: Fury Road (2015).
-
Oh and make it about Rezzyl Azzir or Dregan Yor
