Edit 20 hours: Almost 2000 votes. The reason I'm suggesting it is because that would be 200 million dollars bungie could use to make destiny better. Just saying, most of us know by now the money they lost from bonuses and that they need more money. This would just be extra revenue to improve future games.
Make a movie.
upvote if you agree so more people can see and be polled
No joke! That's it. Video game movies are all the rave right now. The shitty ones like battleship are gone and now they are doing assassins creed and warcraft.
We all remember the hype for destiny. The live action commercials were inspiring.
For the lack of story in the game, you could make a story on film.
1) Fans of the game will love it
2) effing Sci-Fi fans will love it
3) Action fans will love it
4)CGI is much cheaper than it used to be and much better
Undoubtedly one of the most well know (whether infamously or not) games in the last 5 years. Destiny 2 is coming out next year.
NOW IS THE PERFECT TIME TO RELEASE IT.
I just came back from warcraft not knowing anything about it and expecting a bad movie. It was way freaking cool and I know a Destiny movie would be cooler. So do movie companies.
Imagine seeing a fire team going into the vault on the big screen. Maybe a teaser of Eris reporting her teams failed attempts to stop Crota as the captain of the fire team is being debriefed about the vault of glass. Then the second film would be flashbacks of Eris' fire team and then the main fire team of legendary guardians from the first movie going in to take down Crota. Or show the battle of twilight gap. Maybe show some ahamkara or stuff we don't know about yet.
I know pitching it to a good movie company would be easy as well.
the hype is real so take advantage while the timing is good.
This could easily be a multi-movie deal.
Edit: Free game advertisement for your games and dlc and will get new players to join
Edit 2: Let me make it clear that bungie would receive the money from royalties and trademarks and because they own destiny. They wouldn't need to do anything with the movie. Honestly the movie could suck and people would throw money at the (big) screen lol just like bungie always wanted
Edit 3: There is definitely a problem waiting for destiny to release more games and become an established empire before making a movie. One, the destiny games won't benefit from added revenue, advertisement would go completely to the movie company and not to bungie. We'd know the story if we wait, that leave more freedom for script writers to take more freedom and mess up the movies and make them worse. They need to hit it while it's fresh for bungie to benefit and to make it good. Any story aside from game cannon would make the movie bad.

*Throws money uncontrollably at screen*

Only if it is good. If it sucks ass then don't bother.

2 RepliesIdk, I feel like there'd have to be a LOT of movies to explain everything. Did that Halo movie ever even come out?
-
Edited by plasmastorm12: 6/9/2016 3:54:16 AMWell considering that they are having a hard time trying to do a game which is their specialty id say that they should focus more on the game. Maybe that way it wont be broken for 2 years. If they already had a good, working game like warcraft and assassins creed (exeption on unity) then yeah sure it would be cool.
-
1 ReplyWould it have a story?

4 RepliesWarcraft has terrible reviews and will bomb in the box office. No one knows wtf it's about and it looks dumb anyways. Only people who will watch it are those who played the computer game.
-
Forward unto dawn was bad. I liked it, but until bungie and film makers can make a solid halo movie, we should forget about the big screen.
-
1 ReplyIf the Warcraft movie with all its player base make a non-profitable movie then there is NOWAY Destiny would be a good idea. Video game movies historically don't do well at the box office so if the most profitable game of all times makes a flop movie... :(
-
I would throw my money at the IMAX screen
-
1 ReplyI'd rather they spend 200 million on their game(s) instead of a movie.
-
95% of movies based on video games are cringe inducing awful...
-
A Destiny movie would be cool
-
2 RepliesThe live action version would have to be like a mixture of Lord of the Rings(for scenery and depth) and also Guardians of the Galaxy/Avengers(for a good script to accommodate numerous characters) wouldn't want to see too many big name actors.....you know what just do an Animated DVD series, it would probably be much better
-
3 RepliesYou would have to leave the theatre to access the story
-
23 RepliesI can not think of a single movie inspired by video games that has been good. As much as I would like video games to work as movies, historically they never have and I highly doubt they ever will.
-
Movie would be cool but it would get -blam!-ed up and include nothing you want.
-
4 Repliesvg movies are so cringe man

Bump for later
-
Sounds good to me

it cant be all shooting tho. It has to have a deeper story that dives into all the lore. A trilogy?
-
I'd definitely see it. I think it may be further down the road, when Destiny has some real history and success behind it.

Edited by Sephiroth: 6/9/2016 1:44:38 AMAs long as they have Richard Simmons and Carrot-top as the leader of the hunters. Then yes.
-
Yeah the promos for the initial games release were very well done....I'd love to see more of the real life depiction of the destiny universe

Thanks for all the replies guys. 1800 votes in less than 24 hours!

Fix the story line and use a movie to expand it. Then I'd consider it.
