Let me put it this way. With other games that you also spend hours playing and trying to unlock and earn things, when game 2 comes out, all the work in game 1 means nothing. Sometimes they reward a player for loyalty (Like in Forza) or sometimes they just say okay thanks for playing. In my mind, it'd be nice to just transfer things over. But all in all I wouldn't be mad if they didnt. It's a new game, a new experience, all the fun of finding these things again. And if they can confirm that each game they release will be out for 2 years then hey! Why not?
However what are your takes on this gaurdians.

Should y2 have character transfer?
We are in year 2
-
Fresh start, but we have the option to keep and ascend one legendary armor set and one legendary weapon.
no, exotics would be a terrible idea
Edited by Johnny: 6/4/2016 6:26:45 PMCharacter appearance, Shaders, Emblems, Ships, Sparrows, will most likely carry over. Everything else will most likely reset (possibly emotes)
-
Just the character no gear or anything
-
1 ReplyI just want to keep my emblems, shaders, ships and stats.
-
1 ReplyI think D2 is going to be fresh if they want new players to get in. I want to see new customization options like body shape and hybrid races (exo/taken) to be included in the next game.
-
I think all weapons should be left yr one. This way all the op exotics that make balance impossible can be left.
-
3 RepliesI hope for a new fresh game that fixes a lot of the problems of Destiny 1. If there is any transfer data, I would hope it doesn't take away from the new game and experience. Kinda how the spark of light let's you jump ahead of Y1 story. But as a whole, just hoping for all new content. Maybe a loyalty bonus. But just want a freaking story that makes sense and is deep. More side quests. More options for gear and leveling. And LFG in game!
-
5 RepliesTransfer character + level reset. I don't care about my level. I care about my stats, Grimoire, shaders, emblems, exotics, sparrows, ships, sparrow horns, Halloween masks, emotes, and various legendary gear such as Raid sets and SRL gear.
-
I would just play the old game is Destiny 2 made me restart. I don't think there is risk of this happening though because most of Destiny's additions are made by DLC
-
I hope we keep nothing. I want a new game and this game was great but it should br left in the past when the time comes.
-
5 RepliesI would quit destiny if they made us start from the beginning Hours wasted
-
Eh, I am good starting at 0 honestly. Leveling is leveling. Going to do it either way. As long as Destiny itself is a complete revamp. Like going full mmo instead of instanced everything. Just let my keep my Grim score and maybe another Triumph emblem of some kind.
-
Technically, we restart our characters every dlc. I am guessing they will handle Destiny 2 in a similar fashion.
-
5 RepliesThey already confirmed your characters would go the whole 10 years with you.
-
Don't think I could continue this bullshit if it was wiped
-
Both. On the one hand it would suck to lose everything we've worked for, but on the other hand it seems like a pretty bogus way to start a game with the powerhouse guardians that we'll have.
-
I would actually like a bit of both.
-
Edited by StealthE1_: 6/4/2016 5:37:19 PMI hope so. Although, if the reboot rumors are true I doubt anything will transfer over.
-
A mix of both would be fun
-
The same character but propably not with all our stuff.
-
I would like to carry my character over not necessarily the gear but maybe they give us a Destiny 1 exclusive armor set to use in D2. I would mostly like to continue the story with my current characters. I don't care about the weapons and armor.
-
Fresh, but all exotics should transfer and be viable. Not just certain exotics like we currently have.
-
If it is a true sequel, barring anything related to Destiny 1 - Hell yes.
-
1 ReplyFresh.
-
2 RepliesI think they would have to have a hard reset, however some fan service would be nice.
