They should spawn you in with full super and heavy ammo as compensation for dropping you into a shitty situation. Bump if you agree.
Edit: lots of good points. I always play it out too, and sometimes we end up winning. It's the principle that bothers me. I don't like spawning in late especially when others have supers or heavy. But things could be worse I guess.
Edit 2: based on good feedback, I would be happy if compensation activated when joining matches down at least 2500 pts, super is scaled to match time (if more than 5 minutes in, full super), and heavy is granted only if heavy round is over. Compensation should not be granted to players that leave the match while in a fire team hoping to exploit opportunities. I feel that this wouldn't be unfair to the other team because it's usually just one player that spawns in late, and that shouldn't be such a burden for a team already wrecking. Thanks for all the feedback!
PS: of course, this would not even be necessary if players would just stay in the match even if you're getting slaughtered, so.... hang in there guardians!

... you back the fvck out.

Bungie can't be held responsible for every matchmade connection in their game. Sure, join in progress is their system- however I still prefer it to games without it that result in matches that provide unbalanced teams due to drop out's/ quitters etc. Its the lesser of two evils. When I get set amongst a Join In Progress Match, I go for the highest scoring player on the enemy side.

4 RepliesRegardless I always finish theres always the chance for loot besides this isnt a game where only kd matters unfortunately too many have a cod or battlefield mindset.

3 Replies*joins game* "THE ENEMY CONTROLS ALL ZONES!" *spawns in* *gets killed by golden gun* *respawns* *gets sniped*

1 ReplyEdited by WTXKING23: 5/26/2016 3:46:21 AMNo but your stats should not be penalized like CoD
-
It would be nice if it would give you the abilities that you would have at whatever point it is in the round. Instead of starting with no super if it were six minutes in you could start with your super charged. No heavy ammo or extra special just something to put you on potentially an even playing field as the rest of the players.

4 RepliesJust played my quickest match. I joined a game in progress, took three steps, and lost the match. It would have been hilarious if I actually got loot from it but alas nothing.
-
Unless it's Iron Banner I just leave. I really don't want to try and win a match that's 600 to 14,000.
-
One time I got into a game that was 25 pts away from losing.... I got my forst exotic at the end :)
-
I dropped into a match that was down 19,000 to 4,000 or 6,000. I just sat down cause it was pointless. And equipped a 3oC

1 ReplyI hate it. Placed in a game then our team looses before I even tough the ground. There's a reason someone left the game bungie, maybe the team you are about to put me on is getting crushed so one person left. Why on venus would I want to be on that team if we're losing by nearly triple their score.
-
2 RepliesIt doesn't bother me. It's a game that I play purely for fun. If nothing else, I get some quick rep and possibly loot from it. If you stay in those matches, the next one will likely be from the start and with the same people. Then, you at least know they're not quitters.

It'd get abused.

1 ReplyI love getting spawned into a game in progress, the farther along the better. No matter how u did u will still receive those sweet end game rewards and u get an IB coin to boost your XP for next win! (If your team lost)
-
It's not always bad, other day I loaded into a 6v3 game losing match, was like 8000ish to 3000ish, we end up winning and I got MVP, lol. Doesn't happen to often but feels great when it does...!
-
1 ReplyI just don't like getting spawned into games that should've been Mercy Ruled. That still happens to me some times. I'll still just play it out but its just annoying
-
Not caring about K/D, or W/L ratio helps.
-
Bump. I was in a fireteam of 3 and we started matchmaking for rift, and we instantly got a match but thrown into a game that was around 7500 to 700. You can easily guess what team I got thrown into and was at a huge disadvantage because the entire enemy team had supers already.
-
If I get dropped into a losing match, I'm out. I suck so my K/D does not matter to me however, I do not what to be in a match where I cannot even move because the entire enemy team has their supers and heavy ammo! So I deuce out!
-
No just like life it's not fair il take a loosing match il get rewards being on the bottom
-
1 ReplyPlayers would likely exploit this until their heavy expires. Leave, then rejoin their fireteam and repeat
-
This sounds fair except the heavy ammo thing should only be a thing if heavy has already spawned for that match.

1 ReplyPlease, I want to be put in the middle of a match. The sooner the game ends and I get my loot, the better. And since winning and how good you do don't effect your loot at all, joining mid game has no downsides. #TitanMasterRace
