If Bungie drops you into a losing match...

They should spawn you in with full super and heavy ammo as compensation for dropping you into a shitty situation. Bump if you agree. Edit: lots of good points. I always play it out too, and sometimes we end up winning. It's the principle that bothers me. I don't like spawning in late especially when others have supers or heavy. But things could be worse I guess. Edit 2: based on good feedback, I would be happy if compensation activated when joining matches down at least 2500 pts, super is scaled to match time (if more than 5 minutes in, full super), and heavy is granted only if heavy round is over. Compensation should not be granted to players that leave the match while in a fire team hoping to exploit opportunities. I feel that this wouldn't be unfair to the other team because it's usually just one player that spawns in late, and that shouldn't be such a burden for a team already wrecking. Thanks for all the feedback! PS: of course, this would not even be necessary if players would just stay in the match even if you're getting slaughtered, so.... hang in there guardians!

  • Yeah... Especially when what happened to me today happens. My [b]first game[/b] of this IB. I wasn't exactly spawned into a game in progress, but rather a game that started off in Orbit with 12 people, but ended up lagging out and spawning me in [b]by myself[/b], against [u]four[/u] people. This went on for about 3 or 4 minutes before the game finally decided to grant me a team mate. Before that though, I waved at the four opposing Guardians knowing I was going to get totally stomped (4 v 1), and three waved back... They understood, and were decent. But the fourth... That rat bastard just gunned me down without a second thought. So to that guy... If you're reading this, you know who you are... Just wait til I end up in a game against you again. Muhahahaha

    • If a match is horribly unbalanced and theres a 7k deficit, but we haven't triggered mercy yet, I've taken to just using emotes and trying to get it over with quicker. I don't play trials and my k/d is a static 1.0 from 2 years of having my main, so eff it. Sometimes the opposing team plays along and will dance back before killing me. Good times.

      • once 3 ppl on any 1 side leave the game the mercy rule should just trigger. would that not sound fair? then the matchmaking can begin sooner to adjust teams for more balanced scenerios + the benefits of game completions. From both points of view this can be advantageous. The team that did good enough to cause quitters gets the win and they get to stroke their egos, YAY! and those that remained to see the end and feel a bit of shame get their participation game prizes + the likelyhood of having higher skilled players added to their team for the next round. This concept sounds kinda beautiful to me...

        • I don't understand why people leave games. You get rep and loot rewards either way. If you have to pad your stats by quitting, [b]you're not good at the game.[/b] Acceptable reasons to quit a match: 1) Unexpected event requiring immediate attention. 2) Thorn bounty Y1. 3) Significant other decides this is the exact moment they wish to have sex.

          • I joined in the middle of a match...the lag was real... I spawned in the middle of a match...moved 5 feet...hit with a fist of havoc... spawned again...got shot with a heavy.... got 2 kills then got hit again with a heavy.. someone was lagging so bad that...I shot them with my special and they didn't take any damage...then they popped somewhere else and killed me...and it wasn't my wifi...was working perfectly fine before so I cant blame that...

          • or, you know, to put a stop to quitters, bungie should implement a punishment system that bans you from multiplayer for 20 minutes if you quit games. that would put a stop to being thrown into in-progress games right there.

            • Nah, people will use this to farm KD. I also don't like the idea of being killed by a heavy at a time that heavy shouldn't be in play. All I ask is that I am told what map I am dropping into so i can pick the appropriate special weapon especially considering that switching now results in losing all special ammo.

            • During IB I don't really care, just means the match will be over quicker and I might get a 335 legendary. Got super angry today. Join mid match and I get killed by a Rocket within 7 seconds, respawn and get blasted by a golden gun, respawn again and get slammed with a Fist of Havoc quickly followed by a teabag...

              • The lag on IB last night was stupid. The number of red bars and being on half health before I'd even be able to react was crazy. This is mainly why some people quit out imo. Sometimes the games are just unplayable, so why waste your time?

              • I used to really care about ELO and k/d, win percentages and all that. Not that any of mine were super duper high. But the way the game works now, and has for a while, sticking to any match could lead to a god roll gun or other reward you needed. But I do agree with most of what you say. When you join in progress maybe you should have half super energy, all your abilities and full special ammo. Heavy could be too much and people could abuse their teammates by leaving.

              • happen to me a few times last night. One had only 2 min left so someone was prob weasled. Didn't lose by much and it was nice to get to the reward screen so quickly. Got a 335 gauntlet I beleive

              • they should remove the return to orbit option, so if you want to leave you have to turn off your console.

              • I just play through I don't care about my stats at all, so it's not like I'm loosing anything It can be frustrating sure and it's beyond stupid, but then again...when your playing and a few on your team quit it's nice to have some reinforcements

                • I did some experimenting and recording. Every time I start my first pvp game of the day (mostly it's the daily) I get put into a game in progress 80% of the time. Every time I start my first IB game of the day I am put into a game in progress 100% of the time. And it's been like this all through TTK. Every single time I start I can not get a new lobby, but I start with a nice big fat loss. I do not leave the lobby for 2+ hoursl, but my first match is always "in progress / heavy ammo inbound"...
