Icebreaker was my first exotic. It's an average stat exotic with an amazing exotic perk. More exotics should have unique and amazing perks like it. It's sad to see my favorite exotic nerfed, left behind in year 1, and nerfed again (because of people hating on its ammo regeneration in pvp)

Let me tell you all a story, of the time i got icebreaker from a legendary drop back when you got blues from them. It was an ace in the whole, a diamond in the rough. It was a crispy fall day. It was another day of endless grinding at the fabled loot cave. It was my two friends and i along with 4 randos spraying into the cave from afar. I thought i wouldnt see much for a while, but then it popped up... a legendary engram. I picked it up and discovered it was a special engram. I grinded for a little longer until my friends were satisfied. So i skipped all the way to the cryptarc, semi expecting materials or a blue. But then a flash of yellow blazed on screen in shining glory. [i][b][u]ICEBREAKER[/u][/b][/i] i was the talk of the town, messages left and right "Where did you get that?" "What quest was that." "How did you find that?" It made everything better, endless ammo to shoot into the cave and all was good. [spoiler]didnt get gjallarhorn till the last moment before they nerfed it, worth.[/spoiler]

22 RepliesHow can I miss it when I never got it ..... This is my story about the fated icebreaker. I never got the chance to buy it when xur sold sold it 3 times last year, either I didn't have the coins or was otherwise unable to play. An iron banner match I had last year I was top out of my team, yet someone else got it as an end of game reward. And then of course when xur sold the legacy special engrams last time I got a queenbreakers bow. This is my white whale and at this rate I probably won't even get it till year 3. Now that is pain....

1 ReplyIt marked an era when Exotic meant something. Those days are gone. It could return but makes no difference to me now. The game is as lost as the battle against the Darkness. We are out numbered, out gunned, and Bungie removes great weapons to appease crybabies! Yes, more guns are being used now, but not because they are better, because the average are all that's left after the great are gone... Long live IceBreaker. May you rest in piece alongside my ghost. A memory of days when The Darkness feared me...

It still works in Year One endgame content, Patrol, Story Missions, the Level 36 Strike Playlist, Regular Crucible and usable in Daily Heroics.
