My friend called some dude a tard and got a 2 day ban.

Microsoft and Sony are coming down on anyone pulling shit like that. I've said it a few times, people use games as a way to relax and get away from things for a while. The last thing people want is to have to deal with dickheads sending abusive messages. Things had got way out of hand and it needed to change. Never bothered me, i've got messages set to friends only, but the amount of absolute twats hurling abuse at others over pixels is ridiculous. Don't want banning, don't be a dick. It's simple really.

Honestly, they may have gotten friends to report as well simply to spite you. Is it pretty lame to get worked up? Yea. Is it equally as stupid to be the one calling names? Possibly, at least depending on the circumstances. If someone is deserving of the word, knock yourself out, whatever repercussions you receive are possibly your own fault. Personally? I usually stay off mic not because im "a pussy who can't handle mean names" I just prefer to stat out of it entirely. Would i go so far as to report you? No. You call me name? Big deal, you're some random on xlive, i could literally care less about what you call me. If someone got you banned because you insulted them, deal with the seed you sowed, then go back to doing whatever...coming here to cry about it isn't changing it.

Here's a new idea: try being nice! People like that, and won't report you for it!

8 RepliesGood. Idiots like you are why nobody plugs in a mic anymore.

9 RepliesEdited by ChaoticPhenomena: 5/14/2016 10:59:40 PMI reported and got a "thank you" message from the Xbox team for someone doing that EXACT same thing. Enjoy your two week ban. Hopefully, you'll learn some manners while you stand in the corner.

ugh sum guy online hurt meh feels i gon report him

19 RepliesGood. I report people who send me nasty messages for no reason, it's usually hate mail from kicking ass in fighting games or maybe I have a bad team in rainbow and leave in the middle of the game. I report all people who use swear words against me when I didn't do anything. Hope you learned your lesson little one.
-
9 RepliesI got one randomly. No clue why. I only use party chat with friends. That's the strange part.
-
2 RepliesPal, you dont come to the most cancerous community with a problem of yours. You will only be further attacked and everyone will side against you. Welcome to B.net.
-
This is why you don't praise Allah on Xbox Live.
-
2 RepliesYou dont get banned in real life for calling someone a puss. Why should you get banned for that in a game? It's just stupid.
-
2 RepliesIn the last 6 months I've had 2 reports against me, both for communication. The first was from a kid on GTA who talked shit to me and my friend so I called him out on it. The second was from a salty -blam!- in the Division. The guy kept going rogue and I kept killing him so he reported me and tried to ban me.
-
Its well known that both MS and Sony are coming down on swears like a tonne of bricks this gen. It is what it is. Dont want to be banned, dont call someone names. *shrug*
-
That's your fault. Enjoy your ban :)

which everyone does
No.

2 RepliesI love getting the Xbox enforcement team thank you message after I get you morons comm banned lmao.
-
Don't be stupid next time

1 ReplyCompetitive smack talk that's cool. Directly bashing someone on something non game related like the way they sound or if they appear kinda dumb ect. Then no You called him a puss to get under skin that's alright he just had paper thin skin. Which you shouldn't use a mic or stay in party chat if your that sensitive
-
1 ReplyEnjoy your ban Lesson learned
-
Be creative with it so they can't ban you. I do it all the time.

When you trash talk you run the risk of encountering players who get offended easily. So while you may have only been dealing out standard trash-talk, you put yourself in a situation where you could get enough reports to get a ban; which ended up being what happened. It's also possible that you may have been using extremely derogatory or offensive language, even by trash-talk standards, that involved sexism, racism, or other types of discrimination. I have no idea, but I would consider toning down the trash-talk in the future, so that you aren't banned again.
