Just got bloodborne

Got it because i loved dark souls 3 so much but i already beat it twice and am currently waiting on DLC. Any tips on bloodborne? Is it any harder or about the same difficulty as DS3? Update: haven't even gotten to the first boss yet and this is already waaaaay harder than dark souls, the enemies are so aggressive!

    • I also just bought it after playing DS3, haven't tried it out yet though. Been playing the overwatch beta on pc. Looking forward to trying it out! Everyone has set some high expectations for it so hopefully it can deliver like ds3 did \[T]/

    • Did you get the platinum on DS3?

    • It's a bit harder, but it really all depends on how good you are. Buy the dlc. The final boss is the hardest souls boss ever, easily.

      • Harder than 3 by a mile. 3 isn't hard at all if you've played every other one.

      • You must also be aggressive The "rally" mechanic is key to many encounters, so is the "parry" shot

      • It's not a lot like Dark Souls at all. You'll always want to play extremely aggressive, and parry whenever you can.

      • Be cautious, but aggressive. There is no useful shield (one kinda useful one against magic in the dlc). Along with that, the dlc is 100%worth it. Nowhere near as many weapons as in dark souls, your starting weapon can carry you through the whole game if you upgrade it enough.

        • Awesome game! I just got it a week ago myself after playing DS3. Like everyone had said this game wants you to be aggressive.

        • As our fellow hunters have already stated, aggression is necessary on the player's behalf in the world of Bloodborne. Caution is hardly rewarded in the game and it's good to be experimental with tactics when first encountering new enemies. Remember to be flexible as well. Bloodborne requires players to make decisions on the fly, so you need to be able to adapt to every possible situation.

            • Harder. I hope you didn't rely on blocking much. So in a way could be easier if you would dodge and parry often. Takes some getting used to

            • I personally like bloodborne much more than any ds.

            • Faster pace and rewards being aggressive and mildly reckless instead of punishing those behaviors.

            • This might sound counterintuitive, but you want to be a bit more aggressive than in a souls game, as I discovered when I transitioned to dark souls 3 (was wreaked). The rally system is a very effective mechanic, so try to kill your foes quickly if you can, and strike back if you're hit rather than roll away. That'll let you regenerate some of your health. Quick step is important, and parries are as easy as shooting people in the face when they're winding up. Get the timing and you'll score some very satisfying 'visceral attacks,' which are pretty much what they sound like. Also, fire is your friend in the early game and bolt is your friend in the late game. If it has fur, burn it. If it has tentacles, electrocute it. I'm assuming you're going in blind but if not you probably know this stuff. Either way you're going to have a lot of fun. Probably.

              • It's very similar, boss fights are great fun. Couple of differences from DS3, use a gun to parry instead of shield (parry is much easier than in DS3). You can only be invaded when you use your beckoning bell, this triggers a sinister bell lady which allows others to invade (some areas already have a bell lady ringing sinister bells so you can get invaded at any time) Finally, weapons don't automatically repair when you rest at a lamp, you have to repair them in the hunters dream. There's loads more stuff but you'll figure that out for yourself... Welcome to the hunt!
