Fun things Bungie removed that weren't broken

Phogoth strike Nexus strike Elemental primaries Max light level guaranteed on endgame drops 100 rep bounties Weekly heroic strikes for coins and rep Class items being cosmetic (no light) Sniper reserve ammo (PvE) Nightfall flaming head Original PvP matchmaking [Edit] for community additions! Solar wind on teammates Shooting your foot in water for "splash" damage Nightfall buff Daily public event reward Sepiks Prime strike Field scout mag bonus Hand cannon accuracy 8 orb supers Sparrow surfing And even though it was overpowered as hell, I definitely miss the Gjallarhorn... [Edit 2] I see a lot of people arguing that elemental primaries promoted less loadout variety. I disagree. I had a lot more variety in my arsenal in Year 1 than I do now, where the solution to everything is the Hung Jury. Elemental damage was never overpowered. It was only good for burns and enemy shields of the same type. Not game breaking, but it gave certain weapons a purpose. Like my old void Jewel of Osiris I never would have used otherwise with its average perks. They should never have removed that extra variable that people like to have on certain loadouts. Lets put it this way, if Bungie added a solar hand cannon, arc pulse rifle, and void scout rifle to the Challenge of Elders, do you think people wouldn't want to add them to their arsenal?

          The original concept and ideas for Destiny was the best and single thing Bungie removed from Destiny that wasn't broken.... There are a couple of things on that list I have to disagree with. 1) Elemental Primaries: they were broken for the simple fact that it made all the other legendary primaries (faction, vanguard, etc.) and even Exotic Primaries useless in PvE. I actually prefer having no burns on all primaries. 2) Phogoth and Nexus strikes are still in the game, technically. 3) I didn't like how the raid gear were always guaranteed to be at max level. It made it pointless to keep running the raid once you have everything already. What I would add to that though and probably the nerf that has affected how I play now (in PvE now at least) is the nerf on Heavy Machine Gun Ammo. In PvP it doesn't affect me at all since I either run with a Rocket Launcher or Sword anyways but on PvE it's quite painful. I also hate that they changed Nightfall's concept of a wipe forcing you to start over. I have never gotten anything worthwhile from Nightfall but still completing it still felt as if you accomplished something. Now it feels cheap and empty.

          • You just made the single best argument about elemental primaries. I would love to have random elemental burns on all raid primaries in KF. It would definitely switch things up. And a super rare crystal of ____ element has a tiny chance to drop from Oryx, and could be added to any legendary primary.

            • Element primaries I used mainly just for nightfalls I used other weapons most other times now I use just a few weapons less then before. I miss when raid weapons were the best

                  • I completely agree that I used a bigger variety of weapons with elemental primaries. Group got together to d*ck around on normal raid. 4 of the 6 of us were using Hung Jury. Pretty diverse.

                    I dislike the new Icebreaker nerf so that in PVE, when you die, all your ammo is gone. This is totally useless now and it's more or less useless in PVP now that you spawn with ammo. I love this gun and it was my favourite weapon in year one. I still use it when I'm out on patrol because I still enjoy it. It's also still relevant for year one raids, although they knocked down the stability - Bungie must really hate this gun to nerf it so much. Further to this, the increase from 5 to 7 seconds was pointless too. Another nerf that no-one asked for or wanted. I still want a relevant Icebreaker for year 2 and a Gjallarhorn would be nice to, although rockets aren't much use in Kings Fall compared to a HMG. Also, being able to shoot enemies through objects with armour piercing was fantastic - especially on Omnigul where all the fallen would hide behind crates but you could still shoot them. This was fun. Another couple of things - Sparrow glitching is now gone, along with the rock above the Archon Priest...

                      • Elemental primaries are still in the game. Go on, next time there is an arc burn Nightfall pick up that Fatebringer... you don't feel weak in the slightest. The last time I did that I got more kills than the rest of my team. I'm 332 on my Titan. 313 with Fatebringer equipped. I ran HM KF many a time at 313 light and it's not like the enemies got harder with the update. So a 335 is gonna be what? 315/316 with Fatebringer... that's respectable. So what if you don't get to pose around at max light level. The weapons haven't been removed from the game you're just all more concerned with light level than what actually works (and those old weapons do work)
