Another "Destiny Killer" has failed...
It's come to my attention that the latest news regarding the upcoming patch for a certain Tom Clancy game from Ubisoft has it's playerbase in an uproar. That game had been proposed to be (like many before it) to be the game that ends Destiny. How ironic that it's actually committing it's own suicide a little more than a month after release, and here we are, 2+ years into Destiny.
The game's not perfect...not by any stretch, but in hindsight Destiny is doing a lot better than a lot of other AAA titles that have come and gone since September 2014, and has a lot of good things for it.
But not to worry haters...there's still No Man's Sky. Or Overwatch. Or maybe Paragon. Keep hope alive!!! lmao

1. No honest broker ever thought that The Division would "kill" Destiny. It HAS made off with a significant part of Destiny's PVE fanbase. On any given day more people on my DESTINY friends list are playing The Division than are playing Destiny. 2. The "uproar" is over-rated. As is usually the case, the people who are angry are the peop[le who didn't do their homework, and went into the game with unreasonable expectations. IN this case, they either expect the game to HAND them the PRECISE, god-rolled gear that they want....even though the game has enough depth that there are THOUSANDS of combinations of stats for each piece. Or they went in thinking that the Incursion would be identical to one of Destiny 's raids. Even though ubisoft NEVER promised them a RAID, and made a point NOT to use that term....and in their pre-release Twitch reveal made it VERY clear what to expect from the experience. 3. The issue with Destiny is that it had the potential to be a TRULY revolutionary game....and because of Bungie's mismanagement....it has failed to realize that potential. Which has left millions of frustrated gamers. Because what is wrong with the game, are often rather simple changes that Bungie is (for some reason) just stubbornly unwilling to make.

Its impossible for a game to kill another game or a game to kill itself, it just gets older and the companies focus on something else. Its just moving on,not suicide, did the gameboy get killed? It moved out.

You need to stop your bromance with destiny. It is an old game now with no new features. The only content us re skinned old stuff put out as new. Destiny killed itself even youtubers can't find stuff to do. The Division is much more fun,you actually know when you kill a boss he WILL drop good gear. Destiny is more of I hope I don't get some crap this time. Too many nerfs going on in destiny to make it fun anymore. It took me longer to download the new pve content than it did to complete it

Destiny is the Destiny killer. Well, Bungie and Activision more accurately. That game got nerfed into the ground and beaten to death badly. They tried to force garbage PVP on us when the main reason to play was always PVE. Had they put all that time developing and tweaking every single weapon because of PVP crybabies and putting that into expanding PVE, most of us would still be playing. That's opposed to a community that's now less than 20% of it's original population. The Division has flaws and may or may not have Destiny's staying power, but it's currently more interesting and Ubisoft has shown real efforts to quickly address issues that pop up. Destiny died half a year ago.

The Division is still > than Destiny. I played Destiny for the first time yesterday since The Division released. One story mission, one collect stuff mission, a strike, and more PoE. Already completed content save for the Lvl 42 PoE. I haven't experienced this character deleting bug in The Division yet. Even if I do, so what. I'll gladly play the story over again. Because unlike Destiny, The Division actually has one. It also has... TRADING! Something people in Destiny having been asking for since Day 1. At least Ubisoft listens to its community. It fixes legitimate issues. Whatever caused this issue is being worked on already and will be fixed by the next server maintenance.

One thing in particular- the new gear score segregation in the dark zone was supposed to put an end to players with the best/most high end gear from constantly steamrolling those with weaker gear. Now anyone going into the 160+ DZ who hasn't already beat the incursion boss multiple times are even more likely to find themselves constantly getting killed and chased all over the DZ until they quit or log out in hopes of ending up in a server with out these griefers. Massive also hasn't fixed the bug that causes characters to be deleted on Xbox which is shameful. That should've been priority 1.

The vocal minority gets all the press. I'm actually happy about the changes and feel they should have been there from Day One. ...but at least Ubisoft/Massive saw the problem and corrected it quickly, unlike Bungie that will let game-breaking glitches sit for months because "Codingz iz hard. lulz".

I love how these posts are always talking about new games "failing to beat Destiny", when only a few legitimate updates have came out. One thing's for sure, Bungie did a good job at capturing an immature fanbase for Destiny. All I see on these foruns regarding games vs. Destiny is "lelz, (game) didn't beat Destiny lmao" and "(game) is way bettr than Destiny lol" Games don't kill games, and anybody who says this is very... silly. [b]The people in this community act like some people's opinions forms the game, when in reality, you people need to figure out [i]YOUR[/i] opinion forms the game for [u]YOU[/u].[/b]

Destiny isn't dead, but it could be better. It's not doing well, actually. Is the April Update fun for you guys though? Hope it is. Busy murdering and getting murdered in Dark Souls right now.
