Over the last week of Iron Banner I've noticed a swift changed in the weapon choices of numerous guardians. Usually everyone uses Mida, 1k stare, and a machine gun. There are a few that would stick to TLW and other niche weapons but the vast majority of players use the common weapons.
Now I find that auto rifles are doing faster damage than scouts and shotguns have some actual range. There are a few snipers still trying to hang on but it seems like a bunch of people are going towards auto rifles and shotguns.
It makes me wonder if the sandbox team is running an experiment to see how the new weapon changes will work. I wouldn't put it past them; we've been lied to before.

Sidearms are now more reliable than shotguns. Too many dead triggers on the shotguns.

1 ReplyPredicting that Universal Remote is going to be all over the forums when the update hits. People are gonna be like"Nerf shotguns!". Ridiculousness will ensue again and again and again. Nerfs are always going to be a part of Destiny, get used to it.

1 ReplyI concur 100%... seems like a trial run was made with Iron Banner... Autos seemed tuned a bit higher, scouts seemed to be less effective overall. Shotties seemed to have a bit more range again. Nothing seemed overly "broken" just a bit different.

Concur

No, more people play IB that don't normally partake in PVP very much. That's it....

1 ReplyEdited by Lich: 4/5/2016 2:57:27 AMThat's because people just gravitate towards what easy to use or guns for nostalgia purposes. Soon as mida came back everyone used it. The moment someone gets killed by a gun that come here to complain without giving full explanation of the senario. In which they would rather lie and or exagerate the out come. Thus trying to bring a gun down just for the sole purpose its actually good and it shut you down. Autos are in a good place Honestley yes doctrines are annoying from time to time but so are mida and last word users. Now that there's actually something for mid range it's apparently op. He'll red spectre, hakkons hatchet, palecontact, zaneria and supercell just perform just as well if you ask me. I haven't tried the slowest firing of the autos yet it's not my place style. We need high impact pulses a bit more effective. I always find people escaping even with great accuracy.

Yep everyone uses the dot if they have Mida if they don't the dot is op.

5 RepliesIt still bugs me that i get outgunned by faster auto rifles even if i landed shots first coughDoPcough. Speed of bullets shouldnt dictate damage output in pvp. Unless im crazy.

7 RepliesNo people are realizing that there are guns just as powerful. People who are complaining about snipers in the forums are lying. I have seen almost no snipers the entire IB. The people saying they keep getting killed by snipers are people who used shotguns before they were nerfed and are blaming snipers for it. There are many viable guns out there. I highly suggest something like cocytus, reflection sum, inward lamp, bad juju, and first curse. All very good guns that I have been shredding with

Honestly I've been noticing that there isn't a overuse of one weapon, and everything seems to be more balanced.

Bored of Mida and last word. I said to myself in not going to touch a single sniper rifle or shotgun for the iron banner. I went with totally random guns and played to have fun. Even trials this week I was using treads upon stars and not like the others.

Autos and shotguns are always more common in 6v6, It's only the fact that you get killed by them more that you think they're op/new meta.

Red death owns all

Is the type of game. In CQB AR's and shotties perform better.

I use Talaloc because it is a better Mida. :)

27 RepliesLmao you must be joking. Auto rifles have made a comeback, but damaging faster than scouts? The Mida that everyone is using is a 2-3 shot kill. And don't even try to fool yourself that shotguns have range and people have shied away from snipers. Pantheon and other open maps are a snipe fest. Not to mention quick and drag scoping has plagued crucible since snipers are the only viable option now for special.
-
Non trials matches have been a lot more diverse for a while. It's still dominated by Mida last word 1000 but there is a decent variety of shotguns and some autos coming back. I wouldn't say anything changed though. Shotguns still have garbage range outside the party crasher archetype and the high impact autos are not very good. I did just get a nice deal breaker though I'm hoping is so stable it'll compete

I think ppl just got tired of the six snipers last iron banner because shotguns are still screwed up with the unfair nerfs to all aspects to speed!
-
I'm not saying it didn't happen, because with Bungie, who knows? For my money, IB was a reflection of what I was seeing in Crucible, except of course I did worse due to being an underleveled player. That's why I pushed three characters through though... to get some above-300 armor and gear. I saw the same mixture of guns, which is to say ALL archetypes. This whole OP nonsense is just that - nonsense. If a rotten player like me could hold his own and level things can't be that bad.
