Alright, Shadestep, Twilight garrison and......
Well bungie? Are you waiting until destiny 2 comes out to give warlocks an evasive skill? If you're counting that little exotic that's coming out to reduce blink that's sad and not enough. By September there should be something you can think of or let the community help with ideas.
My idea was just to give them a kinda cloning ability and then you appear behind or to the side of your clone. It dies easily of course and it runs around the map to make it look more realistic. It doesn't shoot back but it'll throw off your focus. And the cooldown is about 10 seconds.
Give some of your ideas or extended to mine. Thank you guardians.
Just think about being surrounded by 4 people, there's no way for a warlock to get away from that. Hunters get away from everything, titans can tank almost everything but warlocks just float around, waiting to be shot. There's no way of dodging.

1 ReplyI was talking about that yesterday. My Warlock is very slow in comparison to a Hunter with shadestep, which makes sense to me. However, since the game's release I've always felt that all classes needed the ability to evade attacks in some way. I think I remember being surprised that there was actually no way to evade, not even in the skill trees when I started out.

Titans and hunters have an evasive skill... To dodge firebolts

When firebolts get nerfed, then I'd expect an evasive skill. But not before then.

You don't need evasion. You throw a firebolt, run straight at someone, and slap them. That's how you warlock.

When hunters get an over shield... I'll wait. When Titans get blink... Still waiting. Every class doesn't need to have the same thing as other classes.

Warlock here, while I'm sure we would all [i]like[/i] an evade armor, classes are different for a reason. We don't need one. We have the blink helmet coming soon, which is fine and pretty cool, but no need for an evade. It would be pretty awesome to have, but we don't really need it.

A class that wins every confrontation, short range or long range, burns for 12 seconds, gets an overshield just by making contact with a 10ft melee. The class that wins all close range fights by default and has the best grenades and neutral game in pvp does not need an evade move. Void walkers already have blink. Give evade to sunsingers and it's over. No other class would be competitive, and they are pretty broken already. I would have no issue at all with void walkers having blink as the rest of the class is pretty balanced. Storm callers and sunsingers... Sunsingers in particular are just way to strong to be given anything else.

Not all classes should feel the same. One thing bungie has done well in this game is making the classes feel like they should with a few exceptions. Adding stuff like an evade to warlocks would probably make the class balance off. And lets be honest, with the blink exotic coming, do warlocks really need and evade?

Well you see... There are some abilities that are available to certain classes that won't be available to others.

1 ReplyI agree with the others that warlock doesn't need an evade skill... I primary warlock and have since day 1. It's a in your face high def class and a evasion perk would be to much. Unless they put it in the same stack as Viking funeral, that would be a interesting choice.

If you lose Viking funeral, self res, blink,and stormcaller super is nerfed in the same way as a sunbreaker, then you'll be in a place to ask this. Kind of like Titans before TG.
