So elimination is basically snipers?
Grinding through the boring pvp quests. I've never bothered with trials. This is such a boring game type. Nothing but snipers.
Well done bungie on destroying your legacy.
Edit: four games in, nothing but sniper battles. Switched to imago loop and telesto out of sheer boredom.
Edit2: if this gametype is for 'skilled' players then why are they all using mida and 1000yard stare? A good player can use any gun.
Edit3: someone start a petition to rename elimination to snipers and revive-spawn camping. Its catchy.
Edit4: man, some of you guys are very salty! For those that get the point I was trying to make, thanks. If everyone uses the same setup constantly it creates a stagnated play environment. After getting bored of snipe-offs I resorted to jumping round corners throwing grenades and firing my telesto. It was fun. Some guys on my team followed me. Yeh strategy has its place but it has less place in a first person shooter which is meant to be fun.
For those that focused exclusively on my skilled players line and got aggressive, chill. I'm not saying anything about your skill or how much skill it takes to press a button. I'm sure you guys would love to have an argument about your dick size all night, good for you. I'm sure if you all had the worst snipers with no aim assist you would all be the best. Honest.
Final edit: If everyone could start using fusion rifles and side arms just for shenanigans that'd be great. Vie la revolution.

I have never once felt any aim assist on them, probably wrong I'm sure they have a little but I don't feel like i do with other weapons. And yes trials is pretty much all snipers too

Stick to what you like, don't feel like you need to use any particular style just because that's what is trendy at the time. Snipers are annoying and I still haven't found the best way to deal with them especially on a map like widows court. However I do think there are only a very few good snipers I meet in PvP. Most are just trying it because that's what they are getting killed by the most. Same with MiDA although it is a very good Sniper counter due to headshot stagger being really high.

Went 13-0 without using mercy and use a shotgun the whole time. Really is hilarious when I see people complaining about snipers and shotguns at the same time. The only problem is special ammo but both guns are in the right spot.

1 ReplySnipers make ife easy. When i play trials we just hold doorway and staircases. Once theyve used their grenades up, most charge and thats when we strike. Death by shotgun...

What I found is that sniper usage is vastly over exaggerated and I, as someone who has been using a sniper since beta, noticed that the majority of people still casually stroll around corners, run in straight lines, don't strafe while firing, and pay zero attention to sniper lanes. People need to learn to play smarter. While I do agree that sniping is ridiculously easy in Destiny, any sniper that went through the Thorn/Felwinters meta is probably pretty dominant now because it is more difficult to keep them in check. Too many people became comfortable blasting people with shotguns from insane ranges and having a DoT-based primary that had unlimited range. It is more difficult to snipe since TTK with the changes to flinch and due to the quality of snipers available compared to Y1, but it simply comes down to adapting and playing smarter.

5 RepliesIts bc all of you are always crying for nerfs. Now all primaries have been nerfed to shit and snipers are high reward, low risk weapons 2 body shots kill, and with the high rate of fire, you can get off 2 shots before almost any primary can kill you

The point of the previous comment was that snipers will beat every other weapon in the game. Those who complain about snipers are probably the guys who run around with TLW and shotguns.

Trials has always (since year one) been a snipe game except on the closest maps.

Yeah I've had games where its just snipers but also had games where its been close quartets with shotguns and actual primary weapons. I think in trials last week I saw a good mix of snipers and shotguns

I’d never tried trials because I couldn’t be bothered to find a fireteam for yet another event, but a couple of guys on my friends list convinced me to join them. The first few games were pretty much me just running into the line of a sniper and getting dropped with one shot. I soon learnt to flank, but even then I found I was still being forced down a few potential bottle necks with people camping across. The trouble is it’s competitive with relatively decent rewards, so everyone is going to use the most effective tactic, which unfortunately is sniping. The only way it will change is if they change the maps to that it’s not so easy to snipe. I hate campers in the crucible in general, so I haven’t bothered trying trials again since. I’m kind of glad in a way, because I’m sure it’s reduced the amount in normal crucible or iron banner, because they’ve found the perfect situation to camp.

Honestly I think that everyone could play with the weapons they prefer. But, honestly, I've to found people to play Trials because most of my clan doesn't play it anymore due to all player are snipers.

Yep pretty much. Snipers are just so effective in those smaller game types and with elimination punishing death so much snipers are usually a go to gun.
