Being gay on destiny.
I don't know if this happens to anyone else but I am sick of being kicked because I admit to being gay when someone says "oh you sound like a fag" etc etc. Just because I'm gay doesn't mean I can't shoot as good as you. I've met some gay guys on this game that are amazing but when I'm joining some randomers raid it has genuinely made me nervous of talking because you never know how homophobic they will be.

For what it's worth: Agreed. It sucks and in this day and age shouldn't be an issue at all. Everyone is brave over the Internet or a mic. Prob cowards in real life face to face. Maybe form raid group with those you know don't care. Hopefully realize that for every 1 person out there that acts as you have described, there are plenty more that don't.

I think the OP is bringing up the fact that some people are booted from raids or fire teams when the discussion is brought up that they are gay or asked by other team members. Kicking someone out just because they are gay, to me, is despicable.

That's nobody's business, and the world would be a much better place if people didn't shove their personal information down the throats of others. There's no need for politics, religion, sexual preference, or medical information to be brought up in a video game. If you do, then you're asking for trouble anyways.

I have nothing against "gays" but I'm sick of it being forced to accept it. This a perfect example. Being gay is irrelevant to this game. I could give two flying -blam!-s what you are as long as you can hold your own on raids.

There are many, many games this occurs on... By best guess (and from credible heresay as displayed by OP). The fact this thread is gaining traction over the other regular complaining and nerf posts is just a testament to what these forums have become. Both from the communities side, and the Moderators/Ninjas side too. I couldn't give two shits if you're gay or not. If you can play Destiny, that's the prerequisite... This really shouldn't even be a #Destiny discussion. In fact... If I get enough bumps/replies to this post. I'll start a thread titled "[b]Being heterosexual on Destiny[/b]".
