It's like a kid who has two toys–he favors one more than the other. Suddenly, the one he favors breaks, and the not so favored one becomes relevant to play with again. That's essentially what Bungie is doing. They're intentionally breaking the favored toys (Shotguns) so that the not so favored ones (Fusions and Sidearms) become relevant again.
This is a very sloppy system, and one that is going to push even more players out of the community. It's bad enough that I barely find time to play, but now when I do want to play, my PvE experience, which I main, will be taking a hit. As a result, I will consider other games for my spare time.
Thanks for ruining this game for us, Bungie. I thought I would never play another game again, but you've certainly helped change that for me. It's quite sad, really.
EDIT: On the brightside, they're bringing back the MIDA Multi-Tool.

2 RepliesRather than breaking toys, they should find out why the least favored one is actually "least favored" and correct that ... Sidearms have no impact ... they feel weird and don't seem to kill anything at all - recoil is all over the place. So, why not up the impact, correct the "feel" a bit, and lower the recoil, so they're smoother. Then maybe people would use them. Fusions take forever to charge, burn thru ammo so fast you've fired a few times and have to change weapons ... Speed up the charge rate, increase magazine size, and make them more agile to aim - most feel heavy/awkward to shoot, and the "shoot part" seems to take so long the enemy has time to move out of the way .... Handcannons now can't hit the broad side of a barn now - correct the "mis-aiming". If they wanted to nerf them, they should simply have turned off aim-assist - not made them miss by a mile regardless of where you aimed. Then they'd have been good for the experts ... but probably not the first choice for the masses.

1 ReplyI can never understand why they nerf instead of buffing. They need to make the crappy weapons better and leave the good ones alone. I'm sick of them messing with shotguns too, pretty soon you will have to turn around to shoot them as they will be firing behind you. Every special weapon is a one shot headshot in their intended range. I feel shotguns were just right after the last weapon patch. Pulse rifles work well now, leave them alone. Auto rifles need a small buff to damage. Hand cannons need to go back to how they were before the last patch. I could go on but basically they need to make every primary weapon class as good as each other.

2 RepliesIt's ridiculous. The incompetence.... how many balancings have we seen since launch? Do they not test the content before releasing... I mean, how can you mess up this bad over and over again. And the worst part is us gamers. We promote their behavior by still playing this game.

Edited by Shadow_Legion: 11/23/2015 11:58:17 PMIt's because they refuse to draw a line in sand and say something like "this weapon is this good will always be this good so deal with it" Instead we get 8 different shotgun nerfs.

Actually the ONLY reason Bunghole is only too happy to nerf every time a crucibaby whines is that it will artificially inflate hours being played by the 85% of the community that plays PvE. Sorry, but your theory holds no water.

Edited by PeytonicMaster: 11/23/2015 4:57:56 PMTalking about toys ah? then i have 2 toys is starts with ray gun and ends with wundwaffe and im going to kill things with it right here
Did you read this and think about the comparison? That has nothing to do with it they are reducing shotgun range. I have a year two party crasher that can shoot the same distance as my old one and does not have shot package so was not effected by the last nerf to range. They are simply saying "we didn't fix the shotguns range the first time, we are fixing it now."

3 RepliesIt's hard to believe they are nerfing again so soon. Without question this is one of the stupidest development teams in gaming today. Completely bereft of imagination or talent. They are on the third flush and circling the drain hard.

The problem with bungie buffing the damage on sidearms is that they're not far away from dealing hand cannon amounts of damage...

Straight outta the update...
Remember when Senior Design Lead Sage Merrill pledged “regular sandbox updates” in Year Two?
Alternative translation: the 'expansion' that was TTK actually applies to the Year-One beta
That is, $140 beta for all Y1 Guardians
...

Lol the not so "favored" ones are not op like scrubguns thats why people dont use it? Scrunguns get buffe against ai to compensate the "nerf" that was truly needed so cyaaa :*
-
5 RepliesPretty soon it's gonna be like CoD, where weapon stats are pointless in PvP and everything pretty much hits the same
-
3 RepliesBringing back what exotic? Lol Oh, you mean the exotics from year one that will have been nerfed two times before it reaches ttk. That one? Lol
-
On the bright side, Fallout 4.

1 ReplyYou at bungie are morons

8 RepliesKeep in mind the Y2 Mida more than likely will be a watered down shell of it's old self. Otherwise it will outshine any Y2 gear and that just can't happen. Look what they are doing to Hawkmoon because it is still better than First Curse. Rather than just fix First Curse, the nerf hammer comes out when it is absolutely not necessary.

Bungivision has to keep their employees busy through the holidays before end of year lay offs, that's why they are always recycling
-
See the problem is that when they nerf stuff people will use the better stuff and then the nerf happens again on the new stuff and once again people will use the better stuff. It's really a vicious cycle

1 ReplyEdited by Go ahead ban me: 11/20/2015 6:11:13 PMBungie is absolute shit. Look how many nerfs/buffs they have to do. Still can't get it right. Someone needs to buy all of them a helmet for xmas. *edit as I hit the send button by mistake
