If you make TOM a requirement for oryx (normal)...
Your a bad player period I recommend anyone that sees posts requiring Tom and a ridiculous light level to avoid even applying to join these type of players. They are usually the worst, know it all type and most Whiney of players. A raid is never fun with players like that. So do yourself a favour and don't join them.

I have only just started collecting fragments for ToM, I don't really think it matters for normal at all, yeah will go quicker but I"d rather use the guns I'm good with for Nm God knows what I'm going to do for hard lol

2 RepliesAre you kidding? The raids been out for more than a month, the ToM is easy af to get. If a player has it I assume they know what they're doing and are dedicated. I won't accept anyone under 300 to a normal raid. I don't require ToM though, it's just a bonus but it is necessary on hard mode. Have you tried playing with ransoms? If you ask for 290+, which I do admit is possible to complete NM with, they are dumb as can be. They never know what to do, or they say and act like they do but cause a wipe every time. Having high requirements filters the shitters, I can't even trust people with KF emblems cause a majority of them just joined and got carried at Oryx NM only being floater, so they have no idea what to do in the raid. They are clueless and useless to me as a raid partner. I am only able to play a few hours each night, I don't want that time being wasted by some kid who can't make it past dick wall county without taking an hour. Yes I'm mad, get over yourself or make your own group.

1 ReplySince I have a kid I don't have a lot of time over, but my gaming buddy has been raiding with my Titan for me. Anyways, today I had some time over so my buddy and his friend wanted me to raid with them- on Hard mode... As a 301 defender... For the first time. Three randoms join us. Two of them were sceptical, which is understandable. On our fourth try on Totems, after the hunter caused us yet another wipe, the youngest player squeeks "this isn't going to work with a 301 on the team"-------- • I never died first • I had only died on wipes • I was 3rd on the scoreboard • I always did my energy transfer and then went back The group splits up, and after roughly 40 mins with a group of familiars we were on Oryx. Sadly I had to leave because my daughter woke up with a bad stomach ache. [i][b]Moral of the story: Stop being so freaking bad. Stop blaming everyone else for your own short comings. Stop whining. Tip for you pve "pros" who need ToM/BS/whatever, learn what leadership means. You don't need specific weapons. You don't need to be almost maxed out. You need to learn how to organize and play as a team.[/b][/i]

2 RepliesWhile I do request the higher light people (300+ normal, 308+ hard fresh/310 oryx hard), the last part is completely wrong. I usually lead the fireteam, as in the one who organizes it all and calls everything out, but I'm very laid back and chill. Mess up and it's no issue, I'll usually point out a little tip or tactic I use that helps me do it a little easier, and many have learned tactics they said they'd use from there on. I'm very optimistic, I've maybe kicked 5 people out of a fireteam in my entire destiny life since VoG, and I'm pretty easy to get along with. I request these higher light people because I don't have the time to play like I used to. I'm never online on the weekends due to my girlfriend being in town from college, and I can't spend all day on one raid. I've helped many get through their first time, and I don't care about that, but I'm not trying to spend 2-2.5 hours on a normal run if possible. Now I do agree that setting the ToM as a requirement for normal is a little absurd, but don't assume that everyone not saying "come one, come all, I'll help anybody through the raid, light doesn't matter" is an elitist douchebag, we're just trying to get it done quick and easy.

I only usually require it because then I know you've beaten the raid and understand how to beat it. I admit, I'm too impatient for struggling people most days. I get frustrated if we are free ghting the same battle for an hr and a half and its the same guy dying.

Considering you only need 2 ToM to stagger him I dont see why people make it a requirement. Me and a friend two manned oryx for a group because they just couldnt beat it.

2 RepliesDefinitely should not be a requirement for Normal, but it does make the Daughters and Oryx fights faster. On the other hand I have no issue with it being a requirement for Hard mode. You shouldn't be doing Hard if you've never done Normal, and you get the gun from completing Normal and a little grinding so it's not an unreasonable request.

1 ReplyHonestly it can be done without TOM but it's just a way to make sure people are able to dps oryx. I did a run last night with a bunch of kids without touch of malice. Oryx might as well have been clapping to a choir hymn.

Don't listen to the elitist community, btw fellas you people r the reason that nobody plays this game any more. I was rejected from a group cuz I didn't have the emblem for beating the hard raid , was 311 light with TOM but cuz I don't have something that has no impact on my power level, no soup for me. To be fair you can form your own group with whatever stipulations you want, must eat bacon have a high top fade what ever but its all stupid. Maybe if there was a social space for people who only wanted to do raids or trials we wouldn't have to deal with the tools on the forums who would not have the balls to talk smack to face.
