Hard Mode Raid Loot Should Drop 310-320 ONLY

No exceptions. If people put forth the effort, than ALL DROPS should roll in the 310 (preferably 311) - 320 window. There's no justification for the converse to be true. None. Nien. Don't even try. Please change this ASAP. Doing these encounters and walking away with a lower-300 drop is NOT worth the time spent. Period. Thanks for listening. Edit: Thanks for feeling the need to tell me how it works. Got lots of prior HM completions Y1. I'm expressing the fact that I think it should work [i]differently[/i]. Maybe read the post a few more times. All drops means all drops, right? I could care less if some of them are "normal" drops. I think the difficulty justifies this, as you could still roll 2x 310 ghosts on Glyphs, as an example. But I do need to thank you guys, haven't laughed so hard at so much vitriol in a long time, haha. Edit 2: 90% of people reading the title and not the post = free hate bumps, tyvm ! Final Edit: Those that disagree had little more to say than "that's stupid", while those in favor had more insightful, supplemental reasoning to add to my own. It's pretty clear that the loot treadmill is worse than ever, but if you're blind to the run, I guess keep running. In either case thanks for all the responses, truly entertained reading this thread today.

  • HM drops should honestly be 315-320. Grinding the raid should have a better chance of the end game loot if bungie has decided that grinding the raid is the [i]only[/i] way to reach max light.

  • If you haven't completed normal it mixes the loot tables If you have you will only get hard mode loot

    • The hard mode raid should not drop normal mode weapons and gear, it needs taking off the hard mode table in my opinion

      • I feel I should get hard loot drops at each check point. If you want to put normal in as well fine, but normal should not take the place of a hard mode drop. EVER I can use that normal stuff to infuse. :)

          Eh, I disagree. Not because I don't think it would cool, but because it would be replacing the normal mode drops with hard mode drops. Assuming hard drops are twice as good as normal, you'd be getting four times the drop quality. I would definitely agree if you'd said something like "double normal drops in normal, double hard drops in hard." The way it is now is fine though IMHO. Just kinda wish the drops were guaranteed to drop at 310 (normal) or 320(hard) Edit: cool profile pic by the way

          • My issue is that the harrowed stuff can drop at 310. I got a harrowed shotgun at 310, I feel like hard should give at least 311 but wish it would be guaranteed to be 315 or higher.

            • Yep, it needs to work differently due to the new light system. Hard+Normal drops were fine when everything was Max level but that isn't true anymore. The raid drop system needs to evolve with the new light system in mind.

              • Hard mode loot table [b]does[/b] only drop 310-320. Everything below that is just extra. If they took out the normal drops you would still get the same number of 310-320 drops. What your argument [b]should[/b] be is that you want increased chances on hard mode drops. But remember, this is destiny (and only the 2nd week) so you are going to have to raid grind just like always to get your stuff.

              • So instead of bungie doing us a favor and giving us normal mode drops without even running it you'd rather have that mechanic removed? That makes absolutely no sense. And if you're trying to infer that you should get double hard mode drops if you skipped normal mode that makes even less sense.

              • You guys need to stop looking for excuses to rage. He's suggesting a change to the mechanics of loot drops. And i agree with him 100%. Extending the end game by making it impossibly difficult for any meaningful number of Guardians to get to the highest level if infuriating. In my opinion, it's 10x worse than VoG drops. At least back then it was individual pieces of gear that were hard to get, and incredibly gratifying to finally acquire. Paired with an incredibly fun raid made it less of a grind. Now you can get a full raid set and still be 10 light levels under max. I have seen a statistically signifcant higher number of 300 drops on normal and 310 drops in HM than any other light level. Vault had gear that was hard to acquire. That was the limiter. 1 factor. KF has gear that's hard to acquire and light levels that are even harder to acquire at max. 2 factors, with no meaningful change to drop rates or guaranteed drops from each boss. That's ridiculous. On top of that, Mouldering Shards don't even give a second HM drop on Oryx completion, yet there's still a possibility of ONLY GETTING SHARDS FROM A BOSS FIGHT. ON HARD MODE. Vault of Glass had a guaranteed drop of some kind on each boss. It wasn't always a huge drop, but it was something. King's Fall is difficult. It takes coordination. It takes levels and it takes a squad to complete. I haven't even beaten the whole thing yet. But it's already getting to the point where the rewards are so aggravatingly low that it's not worth the effort. I wan't challenging gameplay to filter the best players to the highest levels, not artificially created limiters to dictate competive power. And I'm disappointed in Bungie that they'd implement this version of raid drops. The game is getting less and less fun. And no amount of masks and candy will change that. Superficial, cosmetic frivolities will not cover up the infuriatingly unfair, out-of-our-hands mechanics of leveling up that have been implemented. I remember reading that Bungie was dedicated to fixing level dependency on gear drops. Well they did that, and then made experience levels obsolete, introduced a new way to dictate power levels, and then made those levels dependant on gear that's even more difficult to acquire. I love this game Bungie. I really do. And I'm gonna stick by it. But for the love of whatever you believe in, please start making the game for the players. Because right now, I don't feel like the game was made for me. I feel like it was made for my money. And that's really disappointing.
