EDIT 4:
So we finally got some clarification. An article regarding The Taken King in Edge magazine had this quote:
"Not all first-year exotics will be available at launch, though the missing ones will be released over time."
This is all we wanted to know Bungie.
EDIT 3:
So I'm seeing a new trend with people saying this was posted 9 months ago and stuff changes blah blah blah. Ok yes, but Bungie should have communicated these changes with us, instead of just coming out and telling us a few weeks before the expansion comes out that this was how it was going to be and barely clarify anything.
EDIT 2:
Just wanted to add that it's not about using the same exotics 3 years from now. I don't want to be relying on gjallarhorn like I am now 3 years from now, but I would like it to remain relevant damage wise if I would like to use it 3 years from now
That would be all on Bungie though to deliver more appealing and powerful exotics that are better so it wouldn't be the only weapon I'm relying on 3 years from now. Instead what they're doing by choosing what weapons we're upgrading and leaving behind is simply just lazy.
EDIT 1:
Im just referring to the exotics that are being left behind with this post, I don't really care about the legendaries, because I kind of understand why those have to be left behind.
ORIGINAL POST:
"The last thing we wanted was for you to look at your favorite gun or helmet and decide that it had become obsolete. Since the reveal, we’ve read a lot of ideas for how this could have been done better. Your feedback is clear: The time you have invested in your stuff should be respected."

The quote is in the second paragraph under the thorn picture.
There's your proof skeptics. Bungie has lied and is screwin us over by saying, screw all the time you have put into your exotics, we're choosing which ones you can bring into year 2 for you.

They reply to bullshit, but can't acknowledge this?
-
3 RepliesThey regularly improve and develop the game. Seeing what does and doesn't work. Etheric light didn't work Rerolling didn't work Using Xur to exotic upgrade won't work So now why not try just leaving some behind. If it means we get more new stuff I'm for it.

1 ReplyI WANT MY HER BENEVOLENCE I LITERALLY JUST GOT!!!!! And what about the OLD RAIDS? No reason to run them since the loot will be trash. This is the worst thing they could have done, should do this for D2 not an expansion....it's really annoying to work hard for a POE drop I can only use for a few weeks. What a troll.

I think that if bungie had us keep our year 1 weapons into year two since this expansion is techincally still destiny one everything would have been fine. I mean you need the disc/digital copy to play it so why are all of our vanilla weapons and dlc weapons becoming obsolete? Now when they actually release destiny 2 and they want us using different weapons and armor that's fine they'll probably throw us some throwback exotics that were balanced or what not. If some thought is put into this though, all house of wolves weapons and gear hardly get any use we owned them for hardly 3 months and that's if you acquired these weapons instantly. They no longer are viable and that's a waste of dlc
-
I dont understand you people. You want different things to do and new weapons to use but you want to continue using the same weapons and gear for ten years?
-
1 ReplyWorst thing is they are not even ashamed of publishing wrong information. That is the worst thing that can happen. Basically we have a pathetic liar whom constantly lie and doesn't even accept the fact that he is lying. https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/149026381/0/0

2 RepliesEdited by Nucah: 8/24/2015 10:40:50 AMI think their philosophy has changed. That was 9 months ago when they posted that. The game has been evolving a lot and the new dlc seems to change the most we've seen in Destiny. I'm not happy that some year 1 exotics are not moving forward but I can understand them trying to change the game to be what they think will make it better even if I disagree.
-
2 RepliesAt the reveal they said those were all the year 2 exotics At Launch. They can bring back anything at any time. The community is too reliant on Ghorn and other weapons. They're taking it away for a while so we all learn how to play a different way. I'm sure a new one will come back at some point during year 2.

Rule one: the Bungie lies.

3 RepliesLet them come out with the new exotics and try them before you rush to judgement. You may find one that makes you think it was totally worth it...

Still bumping this.

2 RepliesThis quote is in reference to TDB. What does it matter to TTK? You can take a quote referring to something else and apply it to another topic and it could provide false information
who woulda thought
6 RepliesMuted. 1) THE QUOTE WAS FROM 9 FUCKING MONTHS AGO 2) 1000 of these posts already.

5 RepliesThat was said last year. Shit changes. If I had to own up what I said last year to my ex, things wouldn't be pretty. "i'll always love you" Opps.

10 RepliesI'm having a hard time understanding where you are coming from. I've looked at your account and don't see you rocking any of the white level gear that your guardian started with, maybe its an oversight on my part. I doubt that you have any of that gear either in your vault or on your guardian, the reason? Its obsolete, made so by you leveling your guardian. You would't use a white level one hand cannon in PoE LvL 28-35 because its out matched, yet i don't see you complaining about the fact you can't use it. I do understand that during the year one grind you acquired many weapons and gear pieces that you're fond of, and work fantastic in currant content. Year two content is higher level with hopefully new mechanics. Will your old exotics be out classed most likely but not at first. Just like your starting weapons and gear it's time to upgrade and move on. Leaving old gear and weapons behind is what you have done all game. In this way i feel that Bungie has yet to lie to us, when you acquired your best weapons and gear it's with the current content. Moving forward it makes sense that old gear and old weapons would fall away to new more powerful and better perks. How fun would the game be in 3-5 years if the only weapons and gear for you was all acquired year one?

Thank you for your research. I was looking for this article the other day and couldn't find it.

Nothing is obsolete, you can still use whatever you like.

1 ReplyUr post is correct, however u have to realize this a evolving game. I have been critical of Bungivision but I do understand the game will change as feedback is rec'd. Part of it I guess. It's up to us to support the game or go play something else. Right now I choose to continue playing.

1 ReplyBungie, please acknowledge why you have turned away from this. I want to hear you say it, even though we already know the answer.

2 RepliesThere was another huge post about this subject and on Friday afternoon it had thousands of replies and over 1000 likes. I cant find it anymore, did bungee do ninja justice to it?
