This was actually a response to someone's comment but it got so long I felt like posting it.
Golden gun, is by far the easiest super to get the most amount of kills with on average. But arc blade, although it holds the possibility of being able to kill 7+ people, is incredibly easy to shut down.
Here is my reasoning for why arc blade needs to be fixed:
1. Arc blade needs better target acquisition when an enemy is on a higher or lower elevation then the arc blader.
Can't tell you how many times my target has been smack in the middle of my screen and within range, but I just keep arc blading over or under them. Jumping is a great defense against arc blader's.
2. Arc blade, as a melee, requires you to be close range to your target (except for razors edge but I will get to that later). This in in of itself isn't a bad thing, it's just part of the super however, that also means that enemies have a lot of time to shoot you as you attempt to kill him. Group shooting can take down an arc blade before you can say "blink shotgun". In addition, the close range nature of the arc blade means that people can use shotguns to shut you down every time you super, unlike golden gun which requires you to take position and get close range before 1hitting that golden gun. (Of corse sniping a golden gun can shut them down but it's significantly harder).
Between the time it takes to get to a target whilst being shot at, and the effectiveness of both shotguns and melee's (scorch melee especially as it takes two arc blade swipes to kill them) arc blade needs to have more health to be balanced.
3. Making contact but not killing.
Often I will hear the sound that indicates contact with an enemy, but they won't take damage. This could easily be attributed o lag though, so it's not my main concern.
4. Razors edge is too hard to use and is incredibly hard to use and ineffective even when used correctly at range.
I love razors edge. And if it worked better my 2nd point would be negated. But aiming it isn't easy. I've been using it for a LONG time, and the AoE is so small you have to line yourself up with your target perfectly. I will say that at close range the AoE is good, and eat enough to kill a close range target, but at a distance that you can kill them quicker with a regular arc blade melee.
I will also note that razors edge cuts through Titan bubbles like a hot knife through butter. Debatable whether it should be that good against Titan bubbles.
To emphasize my point, just yesterday I hit a guy dead on with razors edge at a fair range and it did NOTHING.
That's my reasoning. I'd welcome any counter arguments, I do love a good conversation.
Lastly, I'd like to note that I am ABSOLUTELY FINE keeping arc blade as is, because bladedancers are by far the most overpowered class for regular game play (non super/gunplay)
Edit: It's not like I haven't gotten 4+ kills with arc blade, and I would say my average is 2, to be conservative.
Edit: Thanks to: Mattx792 for bringing up these great points.
"Don't leave out what I refer to as:
5. Short Stops. You ever been going at an enemy and even though you're right there, your arc blade hit stops literally 2 centimeters in front of them. That gives them more than enough time to shotgun melee you. Every person who has played with this super in the crucible knows what in talking about. It just stops right there in front of the enemy, making you nothing more than a free kill and a wasted super.
6. Also, the damage. This is a serious issue. Arc blade doesn't have the capabilities to do a lot of things. Most notably, over shields. If there is a sunsinger with the claws of ahamkara, well too bad you lose. The flame shield makes them live through the hit, and they have another one to cover them on their way out after easily double melee'ing the melee super. Also, it takes upwards of 3 attacks to kill a sunsinger with or without radiant skin. That means they can just double melee you, shotgun melee you, or just stick you with a fusion nade and walk away as you can't do anything. Now, let's look at the other supers it can't kill. Nova bomb. 3 hits to kill a person in nova bomb. That means that you statistically cannot kill that person within their animation using your super. And Titans also, off base, take 3 hits to kill in their super, 4 with Unstoppable. Not like that matter though because you're instantly dead anyways no matter how far away you still are."

The only buffs hunters need is orb generation and PVE damage. Seriously, I spend my entire super and can't kill a major (GG) but my warlock and titan can generate 4 orbs easily from a few red bars.

3 RepliesWow you really don't know what you are talking about. With arc blade if an enemy jumps all you gotta do is either jump as well or angle you camera upwards and follow them, I have been killed in mid air several times by arc blade when trying to jump over them. Warlocks melee over shield is only 45 hp strong, so it is really no defence against an arc blade swing. The short stops are because you tried to melee to far away, seeing as arc blade is a decent leap foward, next time try taking a few more steps before swing arc blade.. With hungering blade you regen health with every kill, so getting shot doesn't do very much. Since shotgun are cqc weapons a acr blade has to be decently close to get a hit off enough to damage them enough to be able to melee kill them, and any smart hunter will be mid attack before you have the chance to shot or melee them. I use a hunter and even I know GG nd AB are way stronger then people give them credit for. Try playing smarter not harder.

I think bladedancer is as strong as the lag I've seen a bladedancer body check a ghorn rocket. Which is BS. But I've also seen a bladedancer get shot down in a couple scout rifle shots. I wouldn't say it's the weakest, it's situational
-
Well I suck at crucible, but I'm pretty sure it's not the weakest.
-
Tldr but I hope you mentioned that it produces less orbs.
-
Blink and arc blade, try it out. I usually get two to three breaker medals a game with my blade dancer.

5 RepliesDude I get at least a third of my kills from arc blade in the crucible. If you know how and when to use it, it's extremely powerful.

1 ReplyI personally believe Defender Bubbles are the weakest in PvP as pretty much every super can easily counter them. However I agree with you on Bladedancer. It never feels like a super for me in PvE. It only generates four orbs without Crest and takes a long time to kill enemies. The only thing I use it for is more invisibility. In PvP, I hardly ever use it. I'm always so sure I'll be Nova Bombed or Titan Slammed or just one shot by a sniper or shotgun that I feel it doesn't help me out at all. I feel like I'm an actual threat with every other super (aside from Defender Bubble) and I use them as often as I can per game. But I avoid using my arc blade.

1 ReplyI do agree with the fact that it's one of the easiest supers to shut down (sunsinger and gunslinger are pretty easy too) and I do agree with the fact that it could use some elevation auto targeting, and razors edge is tricky to aim. and yes to the untrained user it is one of the weakest supers in pvp. however if you know what you're doing and learn its quirks it's the most devastating and has the highest kill potential as it doesn't require enemies to be bunched up to get a high number of kills, and doesn't have a cap like gunslinger does. sunsinger can rack up a number of kills over time too but doesn't have the option to extend duration and is much easier to avoid in most cases. idk in my opinion all the supers in pvp are pretty balanced and have their strengths and weaknesses it all depends on how well you know how to play to the strengths and avoid the weaknesses

8 Replies1-If someone jumps straight up I just stop and blink straight up to be even with them. Sometimes you have to time it right of they're a warlock or Titan. 2-You can't just charge straight in running or slicing around. It's too easy to counter if you do that. Get up in the air, blink a lot, double blink in mid air, blink straight into the middle of their group so they don't know where the crap you are, etc. 3-Lag/Possibly Blink OP? Sometimes if you hit them and they blink at the perfect time, it makes the noise but doesn't damage. 4-For razor's edge I don't use it a lot unless I'm just about to run out and they're too far away. Sometimes I'm about to run out and I just shoot one down a hallway and someone walks around the corner. I call that a "lol". 5-*Takes breath*...... Ehhh...... I don't really have an argument for this. It's just plain unlucky. Same deal with shoulder charge. 6-What do you expect? Before HoW there weren't many powerful shotguns where you could just do the shotgun melee combo so supers were almost the only way to counter it. I know it's frustrating to be shut down by an FoH or something but I usually play skirmish where it's easy to keep up with who has supers and who doesn't. I usually blade dance if I know I am the first person to get super or if I know they just used their's. Thanks for the read. I hope it helped.

Dude, don't just spam RB/R1 use it to maneuver around people

1 ReplyPro tip: it's not the weakest.

Lol I killed someone mid fist of panic then did the same to his friends in 1 arc blade in trials

14 RepliesFirst, you are a scrub who thinks the best pvp super is weak. Second, you post edits about the number of replies to your post. Enough said...
-
2 RepliesIf your talking about pvp, which your posts seems to talk about, I completely disagree with everything you said. I think it already has superb target acquisition and counter supers are just something you have to be aware of. That said.... I think arc blade needs a substantial buff in pve. I heard it was getting fair orb generation in ttk which is nice but I never use it to kill anything in pve because it does mediocre dmg and a shotgun tends to kill faster than the super itself. It seems more like the vanish super only. Just my input

Someone reply please so I can give a proper reply later.

I read until I saw "This is why arc blade needs buffs" You forgot the satire and comedy #

4 RepliesI only use it to go invisible. Using arc blade on pve is a joke haha
-
There is literally tracking if someones near you and you melee.
-
3 RepliesBubble is the weakest super
-
It's awesome especially when I use Razors Edge to shut down those in a bubble
