Official: 3000 Grimiore Score is considered "Elite"
Just got an email from Bungie stating 3k Grimiore is "Elite".
What do you think about this news?
Edit 1: I'm just trying to get a read of what the community thinks, please don't take your feelings out on me. It's gross.

44 RepliesLet me clear up the grimoire=dead ghosts claim. Ghost account for about 5 grimoire each. Some Ghosts count for 10 or 15 though. There are 77 dead ghosts. 77x5=385. Let's just round that up to approximately 550. Fair enough? Only 550 score out of a possible 3620 (xb) or 3665 (ps) can be given to you by finding dead ghosts. While that is a substantial gain, it is not the key factor for a high grimoire. You say Grimoire doesn't show skill? Let me brake it down. Where did the other 3,000 points come from? It shows you have played a variety of PvE and PvP content, and that you have done them [u]multiple[/u] times. It shows commitment to the game. Whether that is a good or bad thing is up for debate. Now, grimoire means, for the most part, [u]experience[/u]. You do not need a high grimoire score to be good. You can have a natural talent at the game. But: talent+experience=skill When talent is refined with experience, that makes a player skilled. [i][b]Being able to analyze the situation and go where you are needed without anyone having to tell you to. [/b][/i] That is why grimoire, to me, means skill. [b]Usually[/b] anyway. I will play with anyone, it doesn't matter to me. But, I will prefer people who have a higher score. I feel I can trust them to know what is going on.

It's not all that much, but I'll bet only a small percentage of the destiny population has a grimoire score like that.

Seems about right. I don't think "the elite" run round looking for ghosts. Most players who consider themselves elite mainly play PvP.

I have max. Although I would consider myself a top tier player, not everyone at 3665 is good.

I think the only players can compare them selves is league tables , OK grinders would be their on kills but you could work out the true elite players by KDs in different areas story raid arena etc COD used this sort of table worked well but in saying that you will play with people who don't get a lot of time to play but are good players the other is I know I'll never be elite and to be honest don't give a shit because I love the game and will team up with any one irrespective of rank the is supposed to be fun :)

1 ReplyI'm not elite no way. Id say anyone over 3500 is "elite" and by that I mean they have grinded out kills of each enemy with each weapon. So they have put time into the game which in turn will give them experience. So anyone over 3000 is an experienced player who have tried their hand at everything in the game.

We will be elite when all new people buy the game. We have beaten vog crota skolas when it was hard. To us its not that big of a deal but the year 2 player will look to us as elite guardians of destiny. I think its pretty cool.

To me no. I have 3300+ grim but I've never done Skolas ,Hard VOG or Hard Crota. It's just time in the game that's got me there.
