Don't shoot rockets at Atheon
People who say this are mentally ill. If I have full rockets, 5 rockets , or even 1 I will shoot it.
Edit: I will shoot whatever I want. You can tell me what to shoot when you've done it more than me.

1 ReplyBest way is honestly to use Ice Breaker in my opinion. You get crits easily and you don't really run out of ammo completely.

22 RepliesAnd you will get kicked from my fire team, or anyone else's fireteam (if they have common sense) with the quickness. You being the only person shooting rockets is gonna mess up everyone else who is sniping his crit spot, since it causes Atheon to move all over the place. 3+ people with Horns is fine since it'll melt him. Anything less and you're a fool

5 RepliesI tell my team to not shoot rockets with cluster bombs, bc if u do so, Atheon moves around more. The less he moves, the more critical shots u can get, thus taking him out very quickly. So maybe u should either listen or ask for an explanation next time....rookie. SMH.

If you want to use rockets, get your whole team doing it then you aren't losing dps. Record it if you can down him in two teleports or less It's a safe bet that Atheon will dance around like a mad man, hide behind portals and you'll have multiple wipes Edit: yes it can be done with just missiles, but just one guy missil ing f'ks it up

1 ReplyIf it's only one person shooting rockets then it probably isn't a good idea to shoot them because that would cause the rest of the team to be unable to put on as much damage because atheon starts dancing when rockets are shot.

2 RepliesIf everyone else on your team has good snipers and you are using rockets you are just taking longer to kill him... Talk to your team... I will say no grenades or rockets on Atheon please because WoL + blackhammer + a cooperative team downs him in one teleport... Likewise if everyone on your team is using rockets you'll do it quick too but it's about teamwork

We done it in one teleport, had 3/4 ghorns and snipers or other launchers, killed in about 25 seconds from time vengeance. No biggy, we do it every week lol. We always do gatekeeper before atheon as that gives us all ammo which usually gives full rockets. Saves using one of my 500 synths haha

10 RepliesReally? I must be part of the mentally ill group who downed Atheon in under 25 seconds using only snipers, primaries, and a bit of MG. Inb4 "proof or it didnt happen!" Youtube a video by Captain, titled "Fastest Atheon hard mode kill?". This was an LFG I was part of a week ago, and it was completely rocket launcher scrub free. Using rockets disrupts atheon, forces him to move, causing thousands of damage lost due to snipers missing their shots, prolonging the fight. SGA is the superior heavy weapon on Atheon. Purely for Oracles, and for christs sake, its the only place the weapon is any good, let it have its moment in the sun!
