Don't shoot rockets at Atheon
People who say this are mentally ill. If I have full rockets, 5 rockets , or even 1 I will shoot it.
Edit: I will shoot whatever I want. You can tell me what to shoot when you've done it more than me.

Depends on the group and what weapons they're using really, if 5 people are using snipers and one person rockets, then the rocket user will mess things up for the snipers. I don't care either way as long as the whole fireteam is on the same page, I must say though it is hilarious to watch how fast Atheon drops from 6 ghorn users.

When i got a team full of sharpshooters i shoot a gally as soon as the times vengence or as soon as i jump out of the portal than switch to my black hammer. Everyone wins.

Agree with the part that you play with the guns you want to use. And same here about atheon part, if i have rocket they will totally fly straight to him :)

1 ReplyThree people with Black hammer can crit chain and do way more damage than your rockets, which you mess up by making him move. Unless you're sporting a team of full Gjallys or something, don't use rockets.

I wouldn't. I'd sooner shoot myself with a rocket than Atheon with one. That's not figurative. I once took aim at Atheon with a rocket, and it....yeah, didn't end well. There's a reason people tell you not to use rockets on him, though the hazard is only when you screw up. really, it's more of a case of just being aware of where you are. Unless it's your first time running VOG. Don't you dare use a -blam!-ing rocket

Rockets cause Atheon to move which will screw everyone else if they are sniping the CRIT spot. Think about DPS as a group and not just about your own. 6 Rockets > 6 Snipers > 5 Snipers and 1 Rocket [spoiler]you would be the idiot in this situation so be nice to your group especially when they are using black hammer.[/spoiler]

Talk to your team. If they all want to snipe then be nice and snipe with them. If others got rockets to then why not.

Rockets flip him out, so it's just a courtesy to not make him dance if you're the only one shooting rockets. Specially if you have a couple of black hammer users in the group. ~~EDIT I guess I might as well start spamming my solar grenades as my warlock on him. They're doing damage, right? -blam!- everyone else getting 18-20k Crits. Surely my 1k grenades will make up for it. Who cares if we have to use 8-10 relics. As long as I get my grenades in. Raids are a team effect. 5 snipers, assuming everyone is using IB with weapons of light, getting 19k crits, 6 shots each, that's 570k damage, is A LOT better than shooting off a couple of rockets. Not to mention. Black Hammer crits him for about 20k, and as long as you keep hitting those crits, no reload.

3 RepliesEither everybody uses rockets, or nobody. If everybody uses a good rocket launcher he can be taken down in one teleport. Same with snipers. If everybody uses a sniper (+weapons of light) and hit crits, he can be taken down in one teleport. [b]But[/b] if one player uses a Gjallarhorn and the other is using snipers, it will ruin the whole thing. He will move around a lot and it will be a lot harder for the snipers to hit crits. And you will do less damage than you would if everybody was using a sniper, or everybody was using rockets.

I had a vault run awhile back where everyone was shooting fusion rifles and yelling at me for using ghorn because they couldn't gets crits with their fusion rifle while atheon was moving. Funniest shit i had heard in awhile
