Loot in this game is busted. Loot drop saturation makes playing feel less rewarding than ever and the chase non existent.

Trials use to feel so rewarding in D1. Whether it was armor or armor ornaments, adept weapons. It was fought for and earned and felt rewarding when you finally did get something. Now days we get so many rewards we don't even need to reach the lighthouse let alone win to get all the armor and God rolls of weapons to the point where the adept rolls aren't even special and can potentially be even worse than non adepts. Our postbox is flooded with rolls of everything to the point where it's more of a dread having to go and clear it rather than being excited to see what roll of a weapon I got. Would love it if you guys could restore the chase and reward factor of this game. Especially in regard to exotics. Calling them exotics these days means not a whole lot. That's my 5 cents anyway, not expecting anything to come from it, just wanted to post it out into the forums void.

  • Turned a looter shooter into this amalgamation we have now. Playerbase cried about having to do difficult activities for the best loot in game; so bungo decided to let everyone have T5 stuff for doing a 6s control match or a 5 minute solo op. Coupled with a diminished loot pool and here we are with 50 activities all dropping the same same stuff from a limited loot pool.

    • The problem is that the loot pools are too shallow and few of the weapons are worth the chase. Oh look, another Hawthorne's Field Forged Shotgun for me to delete...

      • The Loot is far less broken then the ability spam and builds. Might be a backburner issue, but nowhere near the main issue, that being a divorce from the 50:50 Gunplay:Ability vision they perpetuated from TWQ. Transcendence, Exotic Class Items, and generalized Ability Spam are all too rampant and potent, really neutering the demand for strategic and thoughtful gunplay.

      • Chase never disappeared ,no such thing as a god roll unless you mean pvp maybe, because when it comes to pve everybody plays different same could be said with pvp nowadays ,so what is a god roll for one person might not be a god roll for others . What's killed this game isn't the lack of loot chase its the fact that certain contents armor has yet to be updated, so no reason to chase other than ornaments ,and since bungie kept catering to sweats for endgame now the playercount is so low nobody is willing to do teaching runs etc or even bother with carries ,the new dlc/activities are pretty well balanced difficulty wise I just wish I could say the same about the rest of the game for example nobody wants to farm vespers host last boss

      • actually, the vanguard alerts loot drops are the only thing that keeps me playing lol just so I can stock up all materials and try new builds basically making up my own things to do because there’s nothing to do The crucible is a broken mess, but I still play anyways The days are numbers

Don't need to go flawless to go to the lighthouse. Don't need to raid to get the best loot in the game. There is nothing meaningful because players cried that they couldn't get the same loot as those who challenged themselves. That people who played more were rewarded more for their efforts.... like any other game. And then they come up with an excuse and attack people who are game to raid and do other endgame stuff by completely exaggerating how much effort it takes to even to the most basic of mechanics in a raid. I'm sorry but if you don't treat this game like a hobby, those that do will always be better than you. It doesn't matter if you work 12 hour per day or have 3 kids and 2 jobs. That's just how this game was designed and any game with loot and grinding in a kiver service game or mmo is FOR those people. Deal with that and move on. People need to stop trying to change the space made for a specific audience and ruining it or stay in their lane and understand their own limits. The problem with destiny is that the audience grew up and can no longer play as much. NEW players are rare.

Exotic drops have been shadow-reduced drastically, I only get the one from vanguard weekly rewards The chase is still there, rng sits between you and what you want, desired rolls can take a very long time to drop, or not at all (and I have to make do for my sanity), meanwhile, you have to play for each one As for trials, going in with strangers, can sabotage your streak, even if you are good, your effort to the lighthouse is not a solo one Give it a rest, I'd like to live as well, not just play video games

      • When everything is special.... Nothing is special..... They can either do a flush and start over with the game or it will just continue this I would say slide but I think it might be at least close to its bottom. I think they are just going to cash the last of the Sony payments when Marathon drops and call it game over any way.

        • Fun fact a lot of the best weapons in D1 were static rolls so as soon as you got it dropped it was an instant god roll. One of the still clamoured for trials scouts in D1 Burning Eye that you can still get right now is always guaranteed to have Explosive Rounds and Third Eye. Weapons in D1 tended to have a lot less randomly rolling parts on the random rolled weapons as well. The way exotics are dropped should honestly change back to how it was in D1 where pretty much every activity would have the possibility of dropping one and Three of Coins being useful in even the low level stuff to get exotic engrams like in story missions. We should still have some quest related exotics though. D2 needs to also just stop reworking the weapon system constantly trying to do pseudo-sunsetting and also stop removing loot pools from the game and start spreading legacy loot throughout the legacy content to enrich it. Onslaught should still be dropping BRAVE weapons but it isn't, Xur currently has the largest loot pool in the game with more loot than all other current loot pools combined.
