Hello - I wasn't really sure if this was worth posting, but I figured the answer is always no until you ask. My group had participated in the Epic Day 1 race, and there were two unclear instances where, I will not outright say it is a bug, I just want to know where Bungie stands on these instances.

The first link I posted is regarding the Hobgoblin boss. We ran into a situation where the raid itself counted the kill and provided the next objective - additionally, we could not complete it again (proving that it was NOT a wipe of the encounter) and as you can see in the clip, both no loot drops and there is no option to place a rally banner - the encounter was completed, but we did not get triumph credit. Where does Bungie stand on instances like these? Should we have gotten credit? Or not?

The second link regards the final boss - I realize that you are meant to clear the boss and then run away, but you can see the boss health blip at the end, and we are unclear if this should have counted as a clear or not. I realize it is a long shot, but wanted to ask in any case. Does the boss health bar blip not count as a clear of the final boss?
What is intended? because in the first example, we clear the boss' health bar, and it progresses the raid (BUT does not give the triumph). And in the second example, we cleared the boss' health bar, but were completely wiped and not given credit.
Thanks for any clarification on the matter.

1 ReplyWould love if Bungie finally clarified their stance on this. It's been happening for some time now here and there, and not even an acknowledgement of the situation is crazy. Sure, it's an edge case, but just seems like the right thing to do to just answer the community's grievances on such important topics.

PPPLLLLEEEAAASSSEEEEE BUNGIE 🙏 Beating Koregos on this contest mode was NOT easy. Such a fantastic encounter, hated having to walk away feeling like we beat it but not officially.

I'd appreciate just a response from Bungie explaining their view on this. We didn't even get our loot drops from hobgoblin if its supposed to count as clearing. If its not supposed to be counting as a clear why is it progressing us to the next and erasing our opportunity to do so. Hoping to hear a reasonable explanation for this. We've dedicated our time and effort to play your game for the reason that it makes us happy playing. When things like this happen it definitely does not make people want to play future day ones.

3 RepliesFor what it is worth, my team has also had these same exact close calls in previous contest mode raids, and they (eventually) counted as clears both times. Here is us during the Contest mode Challenge run of Crota's End, where we killed Crota and then immediately got wiped. We did not get the triumph, but because this was a widespread issue, Bungie stepped in and sent us the emblem afterwards: https://www.twitch.tv/home__furnishing/clip/SuaveTalentedClipsmomFeelsBadMan-F3-2fDLivW5AnFjM?filter=clips&range=all&sort=time Here is us during King's Fall Contest mode killing Golgoroth. Again, same thing. We killed the boss and then the wipe mechanic did not stop and killed us, causing us to be in an infinite death loop. This time we did get triumph progress but had to re-instance to continue. https://www.twitch.tv/home__furnishing/clip/ExuberantCrypticCucumberBibleThump-9uMsCJXZr8mshDl-?filter=clips&range=all&sort=time All that to say, this is a common issue for us during contest mode raids. I hope Bungie will also review the TDP Epic Contest Raid kills shown here and please reconsider our triumph clear status. This seems like an issue where the wipe mechanic timer is not properly pausing/stopping fast enough after the kill to prevent the wipe.
