Hello everybody,
after sleeping one night after yesterday's TWID I still have mixed feelings about un-sunsetting legacy gear.
Please Bungie, consider giving all players crafting patterns (no rng grinding for 5 patterns) for every weapon you plan to bring back from sunsetting.
Instead make it a bounty like the weapons from the Brave Armory.
Thanks for reading, have a nice day Guardians

Edited by Duke: 4/26/2024 4:07:18 PMSorry, that's overdelivery. Best we can do is shrug and tell you to go f yourself. Please play our game and give us more money please :)
I wish they would do this but they wont because they do not give one single sht about going back on promises or making amends for doing so
Better yet, if it’s already in our collections just charge a few thousand Glimmer to unlock the pattern. Or, give the patterns to ADA-1 and let her handle them like armor ornament unlocks, preferably not limited to 10 a season.

Its Bungie. What they will do is mess it up horribly. They arent even aware of the playerbase’ feelings about this. They dont playtest they just reskin and re issue and tell constant lies about how content has to make room for other content Meanwhile prismatic subclasses is basically “slap some old junk together and people will love it” The new enemy “race” in TFS is just 1 enemy type kinda like a warlock tormentor They lied twice about vault space, lied about sunsetting (if the guns had to go why could we keep and use them still). The guns had to go because Bungie knew they peaked. They had their business plan setup; to release guns for years that are barely different from eachother with minimal effort; re-using and re-skinning but in a way its very obvious to any player. Look at perks, its all the same garbage in pve. Oh this ones 30% bonus dmg, this one 25, this one 33. Omg this new one? It goes to 20.. and if u get a nade kill it goes to 30!!!! Innovation!!!! Clowns. They wont do this right, because they cant. Theyre boomers. And boomers love to watch Rambo 5 times a year.

Does this un sunset mean i can get and use revoker, redrix and all the other pinnacles i got and use them from collections and bring upto the new power level?
-
I was thinking something similar. We should be able to craft them for free if they are unlocked. While we are at it most weapons should be craftable for free or low cost so we can clean up our vaults and have space left over for new stuff...
-
Crafting vs farming. Playtime vs build crafting. Exclusivity vs common. All these depend on number players and player engagement. I will note that the weapon selection and cost to craft have improved. I like being able to craft to proc with a unique build. Some more exclusive weapons could have fewer red border unlocks. Overall it is a balance issue.

One way they can help us with the dismantled gear and crafting is to allow to recreate any gear that has been obtained once, even if it costs 10 time the legendary marks and enhancement cores. The rolls you can crafte should be limited to the ones you have obtained, that way the need to hunt for rolls will still be there.
-
I absolutely love crafting and support it being the main method for loot grind in this game. Not just for sunset weapons but the entirety of the game. Rng loot is my biggest complaint about this game.
-
Bungie doesn’t seem to like crafting all that much from the looks of it. Also, the tryhards will cry about it and we can’t have that.
-
Honestly agreed. Some people out there are like, "no don't do crafting. It ruins the grind and I prefer random roll drops." Who cares at this point? We are so far into the end of this story and we have done so much in the game that crafting has felt a lot better than hoping this game's trash rng is going to give you the weapon roll you want. On top of that, we still have random rolled stat armor to grind for along with the terrible drop rates of dungeon/raid exotics to deal with. Just let crafting be the focus for weapons at this point.

Edited by Itcus: 4/27/2024 10:14:22 AM1: Unlock sunset weapons and have a static roll that can be pulled from collections. 2: Have a way to focus one of these weapons and be able to acquire them for a certain event/activity. 3: When the weapon is attained from said event/activity, whatever perks are on it are then unlocked and available for crafting. You get both your RnG grind to unlock perks and also your chance to craft a weapon with perks you want.

Stop bringing back old gear. Please work on new stuff… so sick of seeing old -blam!- over and over.
-
I agree but you have a bunch of people who spent 300 hours getting a god roll of a sunset weapon who will be pissed people get an easy crafted perfect 5/5 of something they spent all that time getting.
-
There always be grinding. That why I am going to retired if destiny 3 comes out…..
-
Maybe instead just make collections actually work. Yeah you'll get some random static roll, but at least you can still get one
-
Why would Bungie do that when they have conditioned this community to be willing to pay for a slight chance to get them again, maybe even with a new “shiney”. The boring Destiny grind and dopamine hit makes the bots go REEEEEEEEEE
-
The crafting idea is cool but I doubt bungie will let us craft an old weapon with dragonfly +rampage or one with kill clip + explosive payload just to name a few. They’ll most likely give us a watered down versions of any godroll guns, that is what I’m afraid.
-
Crafting was never good for the game. Bungie just needed to find the sweet spot for farming
-
The returning gear cannot come back soon enough.
-
EXCEPT... All that stuff that is not craftable from before crafting came into the game!
-
Great idea!
-
I would prefer that we can regain weapons from collections instead of crafting because crafting ruins the game.
-
Edited by The Hermit IX: 4/26/2024 8:58:52 PMSure they’ll set up 500 weapons into crafting. According to the other guy with a sunsetting solution thread, it’s easy flicking a switch to bring them all back. It will be available at launch of FS 🙄
-
Great idea! I'm not sure that I myself care about all the "gone guns" because there will be a way to earn updated versions with origin traits and such, and as long as it's pretty good like Onslaught or something else, it'll give people something to do. Plus, there are a lot of new players who never had the weapons in the first place. Earning them in game sets everyone on an even playing field I suppose.
-
I would even be good with being able to craft them with only the perks and slots they had a the time.
-
Pulling out revoker as we speak.
