The whole reason we have seasons, events and time gating is to spread content out, sustain the player population over longer periods and make more money. Bungie didn’t pull these ideas out of their butt — a lot of players quickly burn through content, complain when they run out of things to do and demand more. There is no realistic way to keep up with that, so Bungie pulls every trick in the book to try and maximise each piece of content. Time gating just happens to be one of those tricks. Anyway, if you miss out on some weapons, or skip the activity entirely, guess what? You’ll be absolutely fine. Lose the fomo and play what you enjoy.
