You think Taox is inhabiting the traveler? I must have missed this part of the lore. Where was this hinted?

My gut. original Destiny story. Other stories about Light and Darkness we humans have told ourselves for thousands of years. And of course the part in the lore where nobody knows where Taox is. As a writer you don’t put stuff like that in your story unless you intend to come back to it. Destiny original story was Astronauts met a mysterious “Woman” on Mars not The Traveler. And before the original writer left we saw that cutscene with The Vex showing us a mysterious woman. We also see statues of a shrouded woman on the Luna Pyramid. Shhhh her identity is a mystery. 🤫 Now folks say oh that’s gone, completely cut now. But again this is not how writers write media like games and television. You either work it out and make it fit or you pull a Game of Thrones and pull nonsense out at the last season. That could happen. I just have Faith in Bungie’s story telling still. Plus it fits really well. Two opposite beings overseeing the creation of the galaxy. One of Darkness, The Witness and one of Light, The Gardener. We know she’s a she from the lore and there just simply isn’t another character in lore at all that could be The Witness’s opposite. I mean Bungie could pull some galactic time loop stuff with Mara Sov. But every time they get the opportunity to make her a bigger piece in the story her character is always that of someone outside the conflict, not behind it but affected by it. Or Bungie just creates a whole new female character to be the being inside The Traveler. But my gut tells me it’s Taox and The Traveler is a Dyson Sphere. With a vibrant green city inside it. Possibly with dozens of other highly advanced races living in it. That’s ultimately The Wager between The Gardener and The Witness. Will we the living chose to protect Life. Life of those frail yet powerful beings or will we succumb violence and genocide over our curiosity of these creatures. The Gardener believes we will chose to Protect while The Witness believes it always ends in treachery and death. Gosh I talk a lot. Anyway. Personally I’ve been drawing lots of insight and parallels from TV’s LOST to Destiny. The story of Light and Darkness and that paracausal balance are both so close to each other I feel understanding Jacob (Protector of Light) and his brother Gregor (Wielder of Darkness) from LOST better helps understand the same story Bungie is trying to tell. “For every living thing has a tiny bit of Light inside them. And If The Light goes out here at the source it goes out everywhere.” - LOST Side actual FACT: The Traveler is called Alpha Lupi “Prime Wolf” the Destiny logo is a symbol from history that means “Protector.” Alpha Lupi is a giant star 460 light years away from Earth. Alpha Lupi is 25,000 times more brighter than our Sun. The stars luminosity fluctuates in brightness on a 7 hour pattern. (Bungie sure does love the number 7) I believe The Star Alpha Lupi is “The Source” of Light if you will in Destiny. Where the Traveler is from. In Chinese culture Alpha Lupi is known as “The South Gate.” Very Vex sounding huh? I’m basically just one of those rambling nerds who tries to figure out stories before they end. Sorry.

Yes, his name is Gregor. And he was detached from his soul by having his dead body come in contact with the source. Normally Desmond is the only human who can withstand the electro magnetic radiation the source gives off. This is why The Man in Black brought people to the island and built The Wheelhouse. Since 2008 we lucky if we get 10 episodes a season for more than 2 seasons a show cause Hollywood don’t want to pay their workers. You end up with a lot of CWB shows.

Their people were described as War Angels capable of bending energy and reality to their whim. And the last information we have on The Ecumene come from The Hive. And they are all liars. The Hive didn’t kill Taox and they didn’t kill The Ecumene. What’s left of their society is in that infernal sphere.
