Trials of Broken Dreams

Last May I wrote a criticism of removing Adept Weapons from Trials of Osiris. And despite all that I've tried to do to improve my game, I was unable to get an Adept Summoner this weekend... And that weapon and the Adept Eye of Sol (which I was able to get once) are being recalled at this season's end. Because it takes a lot of time to "git gud". No one gits gud overnight, I once said. Time that I would only be able to attain if I sacrificed all of my responsibilities, my livelihood... That doesn't feel right. As I wrote before, there are people like me who want, who hope to one day become good enough to win the Adept loot that they've longed for, but have been denied time and time again by those with more time, skill, and tenacity... but because you all keep recalling Trials weapons and their Adept variants from the loot pool, that will always be a slap in our faces. A good friend of mine tried to get an Adept Sola's during it's last season in the Sun, and he was kept from it. And he had a four-time flawless count that season. That was crushing to him. I myself would've liked to have been able to win a an Adept Shayura's, Messenger, and/or Tomorrow's Answer. But you've closed those windows to me. And now I've lost out on a chance to win a Summoner. After all that I've struggled, what was it all for if the prize is unobtainable? Trials just feels like a bad beat, requiring too much time to become good enough and too much time to reach the Flawless 7-win yard line but not enough time to make your dreams come true before you take them away. That isn't right and that isn't fair. But hey, what do I care at this point? What's the use? Now I have nothing to fight through Trials for. And I'm willing to bet that there are a multitude of players who feel the same way and are as fed up with the mode.

  • Even if you did have the time to gITgUdBrA, you'd end up with a forced double carry or cheaters to ruin it anyway. Mode is junk.

    • Adepts are little more than cosmetic flexes, just farm for a good non-adept roll and it'll serve you just as well as whatever adept roll you likely would have gotten.

    • Save your sanity and don’t play. Seriously, it’s dead mode

      • Then don't play Trials The matchmaking system is simple. The player decides if they are good enough. Bungie won't hold your hand. Every activity has rewards if you earn them and in Trials you need to win. As a wise man once said "if you can not take the heat stay away from the fire" Not every activity in D2 is for everyone.
