The only problem I have with cobalt clash is that it's bound to the gear it drops on so if said gear has a shitty roll I'm not keeping it.

Does the new ornament system allow the cobalt clash shader to be applied if the default shader is selected? That way you can at least have the look of the trials gear, with the cobalt clash shader on any piece you choose. You won't have to wait until you get a decent roll of the actual armor

Yes it does but getting trials armor with a useable roll is a completely different problem.

I think if they implemented a system like the one I'm suggesting that would remedy that issue as well.

The problem with that is that Bungie doesn't want the shader to be obtainable on non trials gear.

My suggestion takes that into account too.
